BAFS是百搭的, 內容比較實務, 讀上去和出來工作也會用到, 如會計, 銀行, 商業.
ECON較理論, 但同樣, 如讀上去和出來工作(商科)也是合適

A professor in University told me that it was hard to understand how come the general result of BAFS had been so terrible. I think it is difficult to get a high mark in this subject, isn't it? Better check some statistics first.

商科同理科某程度上都係實用科目，如果學得精，日常生活都用得到。

It is not too difficult to understand. In B1 school, most elite boys choose Phy/Chem/Bio while most elite girls choose either science subjects (if they are good at maths) or arts subjects (if they are not good at maths). So, normally, only average students will pick BAFS.

In fact, he is the professor in the faculty of Medicine.

As such, I think the candidates should have good academic result for his interview.

For what he observed, most of the subjects are good except BAFS. He's surprised with that.

My BAFS teacher used to say the syllabus is too much to be included in a 3-year curriculum. He said if a student scored 5** in BAFS and chose Accounting in University, the student actually could skip the whole Year 1.
And when I checked the exam papers of Accounting in UK University, though I am never a bright student in the subject, I could do all Year 1 and some Year 2 or even Year 3 papers. And a few of my former classmates who excelled in the subject and took Accounting in HK Uni also said they could do Year 1 papers straightaway even when the first semester had not ended.

Hi Ruby,

Thx for your input.  Then, I have a clear picture why the professor told me above.

You are so humble to say that you are not a bright student.  Since you was studying in a good Secondary school with promising students, you are accountable to share your view.

My kid won't study DSE.  Just wanna help the parents who need this info.

It has the breadth, but not the depth.
