My child got accepted by St. Johannes(聖若望) and Funful (Durham Rd) for pre-nursery. Can anyone know about these 2 kindergardens give me some valuable comments?

So u also got accepted by these 2 school for PN?

But I still have not decided yet, because I think this year is the first year SJC having PN, so I dun know if they can handle it well or not. But I really do not know much about these 2 school. There seems to be little comments on it.

Pls share your thoughts.

我個仔係細B,聖若望話要七八月才通知細B是否取錄.好期待又好心急,都想知道2011學校的學費、雜費、書本費、校車要多少? 傳聞,N1是否今年才新開辦? 讀完N1是否大部份學生都會直升K1?

若聖若望 vs 紅磡德寶,邊間好?謝謝

我都係細B,現取錄PN pm class,學費$4950包雜費，PN 無校服只有一件背心袍、書包。校車我未問幾錢，但到樓下就可以了。無大問題一般升K1, 你幾時interview?我1月中interview, 現在才收信取錄交留位費。

之前在電話問過大部份都收,但又仲未收到信,好擔心....

The school called me last week and said only pm class is available, and then send me the letter. My baby is also a small b. Have you tried calling the school again?

I also think the school fee is quite expensive for a local school. Also, this year is the first year they are having PN class. So still deciding....

Hi happymamme,

I just called the school. so sad...

My son is not as lucky as yours. He's on the waiting list. Of course, I do a bit disppointed and feel much pressure. It's so hard to enroll for N1 and may be even harder to enroll good school for K1 this end of year.

I can totally understand the pressure and difficulties in enrolling nursery for our small b. I feel so let down as many of the school I want don't even accept my application. I just hope they will not discriminate small b when they enroll for k1.

But do u have other pn offer? Do you mind sharing with me why you like SJC? Is it a good school? Most posts I read is mostly about their admin and the staff changes that happened last year. I really want to know whether the teacher is caring and the way they teach, as compare to Funful.

hi, i just accidently pass by here and saw this topic.  here is my sharing.

My baby is May 2009, and she is accepeted by SJC and 迦南. And originally, she is going to enrol the PN this August 2011.
In early April, SJC called me and said they has a vacancy and see if i am interested to let my baby enroll to PN in May ( Beause in May, 佢剛好2歲).  I of course say yes la.
就係咁, 2 歲人仔就学人返 PN la.
the 1st week has special arrangment.
1st day & 2nd day - 9:00am to 10:00am.  一个家長一齐係班房.
3rd & 4TH DAY : 9:00am to 11:00AM - 自己上
2nd week.  normal class hour 9;00am to 12:00pm.

係果2日, 会見到之前上緊呢班果D小朋友同插班生ga 分別 (my baby is 插班生, and at the same time, has 4 new 插班生,). 之前上緊呢班果D小朋友好乖, 好自律.

一班12个小朋友, 2个miss. 1 个 assistant.
全程英文. D 小朋友好有 disclipine.
and most of the students (i mean K1 to K3) are very well disclipine, d miss & ar sir 亦 very nice and caring.

佢个 miss keep 住同我傾电話, update my baby status.

唯一problem is very expensive......
monthly school, aministration fee...牛奶$$, 校車$$....好"甘"

Thanks for sharing with us. I have send my deposit already. I agree the school fee is quite high. In fact, the fee for PN is higher than K1. But they said there will be no other fee, just the $4980 per mth. So what other admin fee do you have to pay?

基本上PN $4000以上, Think 都要$4500+$17xx雜費，英藝$5000+$2500雜費，所以聖若望$49xx全英語班,我可以接受，校車到屋企樓下。K1 好似$3千幾，K2&K3一定全日要$4千幾。

May I ask about the Net teacher? how often they will be in the class? What's the schedule for the class every week? English time? Chinese Time? and also Mandrain Time? how often?

Do you know anything about K1? would that be many homework and exam? what primary school would they be able to enroll?

sorry.. i still have so many questions..

They don't have many Net teacher. 1 or 2 only (Indian but without Indian accents) Most of the class teacher are asian, they are only speak English during class time. K1 mandarine time will be twice a week (1 hr each time).

From K1...
If you choose whole-day school, it won't be too much homework. 'cos they will finish it before go home.
