As just heard from one member, SPCC will not take small b (born Oct or after). Is it really? I am so sad to hear this news. Do you know if any small bb is accepted by P1, SPCC this year? Please help!

My bb is small girl and I would like to apply P1 for 2012-13. I am so disappointed and feel hopeless.

雖然李校長講明鐘意收大b，不過我都識兩個10月細b入左，一個今年4年班(無關係人士組別)，一個今年2年班(有關係人士組別)。根據前者亞媽講，校長面試時讚過亞女表演好，一d都唔似細b，估計可能係面試表現好，所以收左。

why not try, your princess may be one of the outstanding one. It is also the good experience for the kid to interview with the headmistress.

My daughter is not quite outstanding and often shy & quiet of anyone they don't know. Gathering comments from her teachers in PN and K1, she is quite adorable, polite and obedient. Also, she likes music, singing and dancing. We think that SPCC is the most suitable and dream school for her. In fact, we know that the chance is very very low, but we would like to let her try in my first view.

But after we knew the message that the headstress preferred to select the "Big" bb, it is probably hopeless for her to study in SPCC and this may further discourage me to apply it. Anyway, Thanks for your sharing.

If you check SPCC's website, you can find the successful applicants in this year. Actually, they are the ID # of the applicants.

Y is big kids. For those born before Feb 05 will start from Y. After that, the letter changed to S. Kids bearing Y = 40% of total successful applicant.

There are three smallest kids. They are bearing the following ID#:-
S0383xx
S0505xx
S0522xx

S0383xx would be born in ~ early Oct 2005. Kids born in late Oct 2005 should bear the # S039xxx.

Interestingly we found two kids bearing S05xxxx. If in normal condition, these two kids should be born in mid 2006! Thus, I believe these two kids are born outside HK. They returned to HK in mid 2006 and obtained their HKID at that time.

If the above is correct, the youngest successful SPCCPS applicant should be the one bearing HKID# S0383xx, who is born in early Oct.

The Headmistress also mentioned clearly that they prefer big kid. At least they mention their requirement clearly.

So, if your B is small B, you need to show them why your small B is outstanding. No matter it is the kid's ability or family background or good relationship...

In answering your earlier question under different thread, I understand that it is not fair to compare profiles of kids, espeically at this stage. But here are some characteristics that my daughter possesses that others might find it interesting:
- IQ test around 130 at 4 years old (http://iq-test.learninginfo.org/iq04.htm)
- quick thinker, excellent analytical & mathematical concept
- fluent in PTH/Eng/Contonese
- ballet/piano/drawing/swimming/etc ...
- went to an average Kindergarten
- travelling to lot of places inc South East Asian Countries/Europe/JP/Australia/US/etc
- mother professional but now as a housewife
- father professional
- education: good universities (world top 5)

If you kid is born after Oct 2005, I doubt SPCC will accept your kid.

In addition to very good family background and financial support, your kid is gifted, outstanding and has a lot of exposure. So great! I admire you so much!

Has she obtained many academic/ECA achievements? Would you mind sharing with me? Besides DGJS, does SPCC offer a P1 place to your daughter?

Small kids born Oct-Dec will be accepted by SPCC but they have to perform as good as those non-small kids.
Different birth registries/registration of persons offices in Hong Kong run different birth certificate number/HKIC sequences, so a later number doesn't necessary means its date of registration is later.
Don't give up. Work hard to achieve.

Not sure where you got the impression that we got the offer from SPCC but anyway, she likes DGJS and have to let go SSCPS. These are the two schools we liked the best.

As your daughter is very outstanding and you seemed to mention living in Southern District, I think you have to apply SPCC and get offer from SPCC as well.

Registration office generate ID# from central computer.

Again, there is nothing wrong with SPCC. They have told parents that they don't want small "B". No need to protect SPCC.

Why not try? Your kid may be the one breaking the record! Especially, Ms. Lee will be retiring this Sep. She is the one loving big "kid".

Based on CC5's sharing, I am really lack of confidence to help my daughter apply the upcoming SPCC P1 (2012-13). I think my daughter would not be as smart as CC5's daughter and is not easily to get a offer.

But thanks for your information that Ms Lee will retire this Sep. Wish the selection criteria/preference for SPCC P1 will change from 2012-13.

If you really like SPCC, why not try? The interview date is normally before other primary schools. I know it is not very good. However, the kid has one more rehearsal chance.

SPCC does not charge any application fee. Good Ah?

For the smallest kid bearing the ID # = S0522xx, I guess he/she was born in Nov 2005 or before, as my daughter is bearing an ID # later than the above but born in late Dec 2005.

According to the no. of birth in 2005 which is around 57300, the ID # of the bb born in 2005 should be ranged from S45xxx - S052xxx if the no. is allocated by a central system.
