Jolly Phonics 教學日記

Last week, a mum brought her son to our centre for an assessment. The little boy is a P1 student at DBS. He used to study at CCKG before primary school. Her mum just found out that her son could not blend any words after studying phonics for 2 years.
He did not benefit from the phonics classes in neither kindergarten nor another English learning centre.
Despite the fact that she was very frustrated about the situation, we patiently explained to her that quite a lot of kids could not blend after learning phonics for years. Her boy was just one of them. After grasping our education approach in detail, she finally understood why her son couldn’t master phonics well.

The mum told us that the boy couldn’t concentrate in class and he lacked confidence after in his ability. Yet, after the first lesson at our centre, her boy confidently walked out of the classroom and gave his mum a bright warm smile.

Yes, that is the secret of our teaching – to rebuild confidence.

Hi Jollyking,

I am interested in the course offered by your centre and would you please pm the information to me?

It seems that your centre will conduct an assessment for the child to evaluate his English proficiency level before deciding what class should be attended by the child. Am I correct?

I have two boys one of 5 and the other of 2.5 years and I would like to enrol them in a suitable English class so as to increase their English level. My emphasis is on oral skills in particular as I find it quite difficult to be done by my teaching at home.

Does your centre offer courses on Sat or Sunday as my elder boy attends school in p.m. during weekdays.
