Compare with before, Victoria becomes bad due to too commerical. I know some famous primary schools have rejected some students from Victoria, so....

Mui_Chu,

What do you mean by rejected by famous primary schools

? Are you referring to private/DSS? Can you name some of them? If it's for government or government subsidized primary, there should be no difference as it's done by central allocation.

Hi Mui_Chu,

Do you have any kid study in Victoria now or before? My daughter is studying in Victoria now. Although the school fee is $4200, its teacher to kids ratio is in 1 to 6.6. Compare to those charge you $3000 plus but the teacher to kid ratio is in 1 to 15. Which one is more expensive? Moreover, the daughter's English teacher is Harvard Master graduate. Besides the school fees, there is no other charges. Is it commercial?

Compared to some Kowloon Tong kinders, the campus and website of Victoria is much much better. They are much open to the parents and to the public, put so much effort to let parent know what is happening to their kids in the class. They are not commercial but they target on family expect better quality and service but pay more in return.

I am wondering whether the rumor, that some famous kinders have many kids get into famous primaries, is real or not. If it is true, why don't they open it to the public?

你的信息有點攻擊性, 令我作為維記的家長好吃驚, 其實維記的升小情況好理想, 不明白你的意思. 選校沒有"最好的", 但有"最適合自己的", 希望大家能享受各自的學校生活.

The class with about 20 kids has at least three teachers.

小兒讀何文田維記, 每班有3位老師, 學生有27位.
下晝班k1是24位學生, 也是3位老師.
另外全日制的k3, 只有一班19人, 也是3位老師.

不知broadband提及的是否以全校師生總數來計算? 因為學校除了class teachers及助教外, 還有普通話老師, 校長及課程發展的老師等.

Oh I see! so it's about 20 students with 2 teachers and 1 assistant. As far as i know other kinders have 2 teachers and 1 assistant as well but with 30 students.

I heard that K1 AM class are all full (reserved for 2 yrs old class), the new applicants will be assigned to PM class.

The 'assistance' is not '嬸嬸'. The 'assistant teacher' is also a qualified teacher. Besides the 3 teacher, there is also a '嬸嬸' for each class.

yes, I know assistant is not '嬸嬸', other kinders have 3 qualified teachers but the '嬸嬸' is usually shared by 2 or 3 classes. So if the '嬸嬸' is just for one class in Victoria it is very good.

My daughter is in N1 am class. At first, I really don't like the school due to their high profile and snobbishness, but the more I observe this school the more I am impressive with it. Especially I went through the parent day last week. It actually took me one hour to finish the whole meeting with 3 teachers. Not that my daughter has any problem in school, they really took their time to explain and I realize they really care about each child. They explained to me how my daughter doing both phyically and metally and what we both have to the work on in this up coming term. How commercial is that? Even so, it really comes w/ the package... is not that bad at all!

i've rejected victoria

at the beginning... this is one of my choice.. but after last year's interview .. i dun like that very much
actually my daughter already got a k1 vacancy from last year.. i'm really suprised and i dunno why
i tried to get a seat for the pre-nursery class last year, but i didnt get one and they send me a letter telling me that my daughter got a seat of 08 K1.
令我莫明奇妙.. the reason i dun like the school is.. 1) too small (site at homantin)
2) last year's interview was in a mess
3) it's an international school but most of them are talking cantonese all the time in the campus..
for me..if i want my daughter enter to an international kinder.. i want her have more chances to speak and use english.. but the languange atmosphere in victoria really makes me disappointing

now my girl is studying in ma on shan boxhill.. and all her time at school is talking in english ... even when she back home.. sometimes she reads and talks more often in english...

我有朋友個囝都讀緊k3, 但她比我既意見係最好唔好係度讀, 因她發覺個囝返到屋企都唔覺佢學左d咩, 所以見以我唔好去讀, 我大囡以前都係victoria畢業既, 當時我都唔覺得咩咁好, 仲好商業化, 樣樣野都係錢行先, 到細囡雖然我都有照考victoria, 只係作後備, 萬一無學校收, 先至會讀佢, 而家已經有其他學校收左細囡, 就算victoria有信話收我個囡, 我都唔會去讀lu, 好既老師已經走得7788, 而家得番d新手, 要我比咁多錢去讀一間只得個名既學校, 值得咩? 大家想清楚吧!!!
