This is all hot air from HKU - scrutinizing the small prints it becomes clear that this amounts to no more than an ordinary undergraduate exchange scheme but worst, the tuition fee is not waived unless one succeeds to win a scholarship, for that and only year alone. For those who are still interested in pursuing a veterinary course upon graduation, they will need to apply and compete like any other postgraduates do for a place, the only consolation is that the elective year spent at Edinburgh would be counted towards the vet degree but one still have to find the fund for the remaining 4 years of the course, just shy of £10,4000, at the time of writing if inflation does not set in, beside repaying the student loan and all expenses incurred during their undergraduate years at HKU - a pointless exercise in terms of money and time, one may as well apply directly to Edinburgh as an undergraduate as it will all work out cheaper and quicker.
