聖心 vs Victoria, 你會怎樣選擇？

小女有幸得聖心及Victoria 取錄，而兩間學校各有所長，聖心有中小學, Victoria較多外籍老師, 究竟應如何取捨呢?

聽聞很多有名的傳統小學也喜歡取錄Victoria的畢業生.....

我個朋友個囡囡係Causeway Bay 間 Victoria畢業, 考到入St. Paul Co-edu.  而家讀梗P.4, 英文個科仲年年考得好高分.  其他亦都有好成績.
  
我朋友在家中都係以廣東話同佢囡囡溝通.  聽朋友講話佢囡囡英文底打得好好, 所以上到St. Paul Co-edu. 都讀得好舒服輕鬆咁話.

但我想幫小女報讀個間Homantin Victoria, 因係新校, 所以我朋友就難俾意見, 再加埋佢囡囡畢業好幾年, 唔清楚期間有無大改變.  但聽佢講, 間間Victoria standard 應該一樣, 因有課程主任編劃所有課程同進度咁話.

唉, 我仲係度考慮梗將來俾小女讀St. Cat 定 Victoria (HMT)好   不過而家就諗左俾小女讀 Anfield 定 Victoria  PN 先

真係每個階段有唔同"ge" 煩惱!!!!

好多謝大家提供嘅意見；總括來看，似乎Victoria和聖心(Robinson Rd)各有所長，要下決定確實不易；但若我希望提升小女小學階段考入女拔的機會率，那 到Victoria or 聖心讀K1會比較適合D呢？可能大家會提意我去考CCKG，但這是K2的問題.......

我朋友個女係聖心讀K3, 我朋友兩公婆平日都係用中文來溝通, 佢個女而家對英文十分抗拒, 所以如果妳選擇讀聖心, 就一定要係出面再補英文啦!

Victoria also has primary and secondary school.  My girl is studying in Victoria and I think it's good.  The English teachers are westerner while the mandarin teachers are graduate from mainland university.  I can see there is great improvement in her English standard over the last few months as we usually speak Cantonese at home that actually she didn't have much training in English and zero training in mandarin but now she can speak some complete sentences in English and tell the name of some fruits and colour in pth.   I was so impressed by her saying "No, this is not a boy.  This is a girl." the other time we were reading a book when I was pointing at a girl in the picture and asked her if this is a boy.  The tuition fee may be a bit expensive but it's not the most expensive and I think it worth.  My friend's kid is studying in a famous kindergarten in Kowloon Tong, the school fee is cheaper but there's not native speaker english teach nor mandarin lesson.  She gotta bring her kid to english and mandarin lessons after school.  It ends up she spends more than I do.

I know three friends whose daughters got into DGJS last year and this year - two of them studied at Lingnan Kindergarten (嶺南) in Wanchai and the other studied in Kowloon City Ling Liang Church (九龍城靈糧堂) on the Kowloon side.  As I know, both kindergartens have always been emphasizing on "happy learning" and do not teach too difficult stuff.

如果你好有把握入到你心儀既學校,間間都咁上下的,都唔係齋靠學校架啦...自己都會比各樣其他野個小朋友,咁細個都係睇父母點安排既啫........如果你無乜把握既話,何不選間有後路的,咁都無後顧之憂，選聖心好，選維記好，唔係話入到去，你個小朋友就唔會三文兩語，或入到去，唔駛點理三文兩語都會好掂，都係靠父母點係屋企培養佢既啫．．．．無話邊間幼稚園入左去，個小朋友就一定點樣．．．．朋友個女係屋村幼稚園，一樣考得到DGJS，讀名幼稚園又唔係一定入硬，邊間會保證到你去DGJS既，就梗係一定入啦．．．

很同意你的看法，其實我亦很相信家長的培養對孩子的發展有深遠的影響，如果她本身掂，讀什麼幼稚園都可考到好學校，只不過現在既有得選擇，當然是希望集思廣益，才再作一個對小朋友最好的選擇。

Thanks, this is also a question that I would like to ask.  Other than Victoria & Braemar Hill, wonder if there are also other kindergartens in the HK island that have quite good a chance to get into DGS?  In fact, I think it all boils down to one question: what is the acceptance criteria of DGJS?

Another good option is of course Braemar Hill nursery.
