My kid just got the gold award in the reading scheme.  It's a good training for kid to develop interests in reading.

Hi ckw921 and bravo,
Do u need to have any report for each book read ? if so, will the teacher count the report qualiy for the award. I indeed would like my son try to do something himself for any award.

Sorry I can't follow your question.  Are you saying that quality of the reading reports does count for the award?

The school report is a booklet which is tailor-made for different kinds of story books.  Sometimes, the student is asked to write down why he / she likes the story, or what vocabularies he / she has learnt from the story book.  He / she can also draw pictures to "design" new front pages for the story books.  So, not simply quantity prevails.

Thanks for your info. So regret for my confusing question, but u do got it right.

That approach is very good to me as it can guide the student to discover and let them have an interactive response. At least he can draw a picture.

May I know what grade you son is studying in KTS. Does he like his school and enjoying the schooling?

My little girl is studying p.1 now.  She loves her school very much.  I still remember her pity facial expression when I asked her several times whether she would like to join APSKT or True Light etc.  I think we have made a right choice.

Though her performance is not outstanding, her teachers told me that she has great improvement in this term.  Now she can manage her test (of course, with guidance) and write her handbook clearly.

So, choose a school which suits your kid's character.  He / she is the one going to spend 6 years in the school.

yeah, agreed. A happy and qualified schooling is more or less depended on your kids's character. Each school has her own strength and weakness. e.g. just saying your reading scheme, to have a gold  award needs to read 60 books in a term. It does be horrible to the parents who put all the pressure on themselves if their kids don't like or can't manage to handle the reading.

It's so great that you have found where your daughter should be. I am still finding where is mine
