打左去問,有個聽得出有小小國語口音(真係好小)女人話呢,無電話通知果D全部 (係全部！！)入waiting list.佢話 "應該12月頭再通知。"

所以我地應該出來打場交先再講....

I would believe that's the way to go....the whole game is that many parents will try a few schools and hopefully accepted by a few and can choose from these options.  So before all have announced the acceptance, we never know who is going to where ultimately!!!  I also believe there are still chances to go.  In fact for those who have not been accepted now, you do have the lucky draw option ah!  Which we do not have already when signing the acceptance here!

各位有份second in嘅唔好心灰住，其實你個小朋友有份second in即係代表校方都欣賞他/她。我知有人second in完接到通知得咗但係未accept 個 offer,因為等緊其他直資or私校放榜。所以大家不妨再寫多封信去打動吓校方。

Let's not get emotional about the results.

Look at the facts.

If there had been 5 classes of G1 last year and the school had been authorised to open 5 classes of G1 this year, there would be no reason for the school to do otherwise.

Rumours are rumours.  Ignore them.  Ignore the noise and look at the facts.

In the first round announced on the 10th Nov., about 120 names were posted on the PKC website.  They have to accept the offer by the 23rd Nov.  This 23rd is a date well chosen.  It forces the parents of the 120 kids to make up their mind whether to accept or reject the 9-year free education results of which was announced on the 20th.

So on the 24th, PKC is pretty definite about how many of the 120 kids have given up their right to be admitted to PKC.  Therefore, the parents of the 2nd-in kids would only be informed of the offers by PKC  on the 24th or a couple of days later.

Therefore, if you being the 2nd-in parent are not informed of the result by 27th the Monday, your kid would probably be put in the waiting list.  They may fill in those spaces by dropouts in the final minutes, perhaps in the middle of next year.

I came to know that some 2nd-in kids were offered for admission by PKC on or before 23rd Nov.   If that is true, and I guess probably true, the offers were made to fill up the mysterious 30 spaces (i.e. 150-120).

Conclusion:
1.  120 offered on 10th Nov.
2.  These 120 had to accept on or before 23rd Nov.
3.  Say, if 10% got other offer and did not accept the offer, PKC would know by the close of business on 23rd Nov.
4.  2nd-ins were conducted from 18th Nov. to 20th Nov. roughly.
5.  Some 2nd-in kids were accepted a few days after the interviews.  Realistically, the dropout rate is lower in this group (for reason that parents have spent too much effort already).  Don't expect any availability from their not accepting the offers.
6.  My guess is that the 30 (150-120) plus the anticipated 12 (10% dropout of the 1st round), totalling about 42 would be offered in the past few days and latest by next Monday.

I have no insider information.  I just deduce the above from facts (allegedly) I got from the internet and friends.  I may be utterly wrong.

Hi, all,

In accordance with the update of the admission list, there are about 160 kids to be accepted by PKC.  Does it mean that the school will open 5 classes in the coming year?

PS: I understand that some kids will drop out after the 'lucky draw', but the number (160) make me difficult to figure out?

從現在11月到明年6月相信一定會有多過10-20人drop out，所以waiting list還是有希望的。
