Dear norakyng,
Total number of Secondary One Discretionary Place for King's College is 60.
According to my son's memory, first is introduce yourself, and then the interviewer will ask you some questions regarding the news, he asked my son about the "Tusnami" in Thailand(that year). After this session, the candidate will move to another room for interview against critical & logical thinking.

Yes, I know, there will be an interview for F1 discretionary place next Monday, therefore there is no school for my son.
No mandarin session. The first part introduce yourself and news were conducted in English. For the second part, I’m not sure, but from memory it was also conducted in English.  All sessions was individual only, no group discussion. For the critical, logical & value judgement, they used to ask the question in this way:
1.How can you make use of the cap of a bottle(the question for my son that year)
2.If you discovered your best friend is cheating during examination, what will you do?
The most important thing is that you must keep on thinking new ideas and making responses , don’t stop talking, it is better the candidate is being stopped by interviewer rather than making dead air time. For the value judgement, don’t just state the positive aspect, state the negative one so as to make the comparision and showing the interviewer that you have thinking in all around aspect.

I will ask my son more see whether he can remember, but I need to take my daughter to Music Fest this afternoon, and I have a gathering with my friend at night, so I am not sure I can talk to my son and response to you tonight!
