我都唔係太清楚2間學校的真實情況,大致上的分別有:

St.Cat--
1.有外籍老師教英文,以英語/中文教學(今年新增英/普班).
2.畢業生英語能力較好,但中文,數學程度普通
3.活動教學,學生會在愉快環境下學習,所以學生多是活潑的
4.學費較貴--$3xxx

根德園--
1.以中文教學(除英文科),沒有外籍老師,但聽聞英語水平也不會太差.
2.學生的中英數能力都不俗,比較平均,其中以數學最好
3.傳統教學,甚注重紀律,學校有一套方法教到小朋友很自律,能自動自覺做功課
4.學費較平--$2xxx

其實有很多家長有不同意見,2間學校各有優劣,很難說哪間學校適合你小朋友,例如你覺得數學對男孩重要,或想訓練紀律,便可選根德, 如喜歡有外籍老師,又想小朋友有輕鬆愉快的學習環境,或可選St.Cat

至於interview,我覺得淺不淺並不重要,要看小朋友臨場表現,也要看其他因素,你喜歡那間學校便去報,我從沒為interview作任何準備或訓練的.

其實要在st. cat and kentville之間要取一間真有點困難，各有好處。做家長的真是怕做錯決定。我囡囡兩間都收，但到現在都未有最終決定。我明白這是很自私，因霸佔了別人的位，十分不對，不過，實在很難決定。然而，我們會最遲於二月份來決定及退學。

其實根德及St.Cat是兩間方向很不同的學校,你想你的小朋友在哪種環境下學習?想她在幼稚園階段學會什麼?要兩間取其一,不會難吧?那間達到你心中的要求便選哪間.
雖然我知根德是很好的幼稚園,但並非我心中那杯茶,所以我一開始已沒考慮報讀,至於St.Cat是否如想像中好,也要讀過才知呢!

My son has applied N1 in CYCG and KM, and I am still considering which one is better.But anyway, I hope he can study K1 in St. Cat/KV.I hope he can as smart as your baby.

Dear all mothers,
My boy is currently a Keenmind N1 student and he is accepted at SC this Sept for K1. One of the graduate student parent (three of her son's are accepted to LaSalle) state that Keenminds' graduates mostly enter LaSalle Elementary. Is that TRUE?
Now I am strugging should my son change to SC this Sept!

Also my sister-inlaws daughter is graduated from SC and now she is in a very good school and good grades. Re: to KM the only problem to me is the school size is too small at least SC has 2 location w/ native speaking teachers and only from K1-K3, but the tuition fee is also a problem do you think we can get any sponsors from the government this year?

I have a more choice - HKPS, KM and St. Cat. My girl is studying at KM N1. I found the campus is acceptable, though St. Cat is larger, but there are many pupils and the facilities are older than KM.

I like St. Cat because its name is the most famous but I am still struggling because I don't know whether it is worth or not, do the most graduates have a good result in P1

Up to now, I prefer to HKPS, though its campus is smaller and older than KM.

What you think is quite similar to me. Those super famous primary schools, like Maryknoll, DGJS, St. Paul Co-ed, etc are not my cup of tea. I don't want that my girl studies in a too keen competition schools.

Also, I am the most concern on his English level as we communicate in Cantonese at home. However, though many people told me that St. Cat's English standard is very high, I know that starting from K2, the NET will not stay in the class whole day, he/she will only attend the class during English lesson or the English activites. On the contrary, for HKPS and KM (Int'l stream), the NET will stay in the class for 3 hours.

Therefore, I now more prefer to HKPS, as it's English standard is quite high, and also it is a happy school. From the existing HKPS mama, they said that the teaching approach of school is not to teach the children what and what, but encourage them to learn from play.

I don't know whether this decision is correct or not, but I still have not yet finalized the decision.

I feel confused as my friend (who are teaching in DBS) told me that they always accepted the graduates from SC,HkPS and CCKG. But the children study in KM seems enjoying their school-life. So.....?

My daughter is now a K1 student at HKPS.  One thing I do mind very much is that students start to write in the 2nd semester of K1.  I don't mind if the teacher just ask the students to recognise the words but writing is another issue.  I still think K1 students are too young to write 1 1/2 page of the alphabets.  Their hand muscles are not yet developed.  In this New Year holiday, my daughter has 7 pieces of homeworks which I think is unnecessary.

Sorry for late reply. Cycg is 基督教中心幼稚園暨幼兒園 and KM is 劍鳴幼稚園.
