What kind of "learning support" are you looking for? ESF charges every student the same level of fees including those in the learning support classes, even for those in the Jockey Club Sarah Roe School. Unless you are looking for extra services from the Therapy Centre or other providers, but these should be given after going through assessments.

Are u asking a shadow for a special needs kid?
My friend's kid has a shadow, charged around 8k per month, since her kid is in the morning class of a kindergarten(not esf, a non profit making kinder), so she only pays 1/2, the other 1/2 is paying by the parent whose kid need a shadow in the afternoon class.

Hi, Do you mean a shadow teacher in ESF kindergarten? Is that arranged by ESF? 8K is a very good rate for a shadow teacher.

Happy001 是幼稚園、小学校? 是何類問題需要SUPPORT? 我有親身経歴可分享、but depends on what kind of support you are looking for.

Hello Mighty, my kid is applying for P1 and he is attending an ESF kindly right now.  He has social skills and sensory integration issues and had therapy sessions by ESF therapy center last year. His teachers recommended us to apply for both mainstream and learning support. I'm just wondering how easy or difficult it is to get a place via the learning support stream. Would be grateful if you can share your experience.  Thanks a lot.

Hi Siulumjing
I am afraid my information might not be relevant to you.  My daughter is in ESF P6 now and she had been receiving extra support from the school since P1.  She received free counselling from ESF as well (first 6 sessions fully funded).  I dont know about their kindi system at all as I went straight to primay without kindi education.

Thanks for you reply Mighty!  Is your daughter in mainstream class with additional learning support on a regular basis? Just wondering how they structure the class as I was told that the kids will attend their normal classes per school timetable the majority of the time. However they will be drawn out for say, one class per day, for special sessions. Is this the case with you girl?

Yes that was exactly my case.  As you can see, there will be pros and cons.  Your child's class teacher knows the best.  So it's better for her/him to decide.  Counselling sessions (mainly on emotional issues) were conducted during school time as well.
