My brother's daughter studied in 大坑真光 for K1 and K2 and he found it is too simple (in particular the English level) and so the kid transferred to Victoria at K3.

I think if you want through-train from KG to secondary school, of course, choose True Light.  

If you want to train your kid's language (English and Mandarine) when she/he is small, of course, KCS.

My personal opinion:  True Light is a girl only school, I don't know if it is the case for KG.  I personally don't mind to send my girl to girl only school starting from primary, but I prefer not to start from KG.

True Light Kindergarten and Primary School with boys as well, not a girl school.  Only Secondary School is girl school only.

As True Light in Wanchai District, some boys will allocate to QC, Wah Yan after primary 6 la! Quite OK la!

大坑真光 for sure - kindergarten, primary, secondary are all good schools and banding.

KCS- Kindergarten-good, primary-ok but not that good for this year (chk out that F1 派位-退步很多), secondary school - horrible!

No doubt, True Light is a good school.  

But you made me interested to check the KCS website for its 2009 primary allocation result, quite good ah in my opionion: 聖保羅男女 (2 students), 聖保羅書院(6 students), 皇仁書院(1), 英皇(1), 瑪利曼(4), 庇理羅士(6), 華仁(1), 英華(2), 聖若瑟(2), St Paul convent & St Stephen Girls, etc.   You said 退步很多, is it very good in the past?


I think no parents whose is willing to pay for their children to study in KCS primary (a private school) would like to send their children to KCS secondary school.  Unlike True Light, KCS primary and secondary are not linked school, they are just run by the same sponsoring body and have the name starts with 蘇浙 only.

蘇淅淨係會讀到小學架咋, 無諗過中學會讀佢, 因為佢幼稚園開始2文3語, 所以好吸引.

真光就幼稚園至中學都好好, 著重品德, 又係好吸引.

大家講果啲, 我都有留意過, 不過都係覺得好難取捨, 再等埋下星期, 睇吓真光比唔比改時間先啦. 唔該哂

我女係大坑真光幼稚園畢業
入真光而expect英文好, 我唔好agree, 真光英文真係唔夠(係真的), 要自己出去學
但真光o係無默無測無考情況下, train到小朋友超班中文, 呢樣真係抵讚
而且真光校風純樸, 家校合作強勁, 老師資歷好, 呢d係幾十年累積出黎, 好難得
100%直上小學仲可以大抽獎, 仲駛唸
frankly, 真光中學我自己覺得係band one尾band two頭, 又未算最強不過good enough

蘇浙小學而家academic都好掂, 升中派位都理想, 小學會比較谷, 呢樣家長要準備配合了 (普通話當然勁啦)

我會覺得2間學術程度差唔多, 真光係基督教學校, 寶血係修女學校
真光家校合作做得very good! 寶血我就唔清楚
真光校園非常大呀, 因為連埋中學小學部(平時係分開地方用的), 所以除左幼稚園有室外playground, 有需要時仲可以有私家田徑場, 室內運動場, 禮堂, 泳池(大池細池), 呢方面真光得分不少
直升小學方面當然唔需要多講了, 不過真光小學都要almost 3,000一個月, 所以部分家長會去抽獎, 如果抽到st frances, marymount, st paul等好學校, 慳返好多錢呢..........不過都係果句, 如果打算考其他小學, 就要預早操fit d 英文了 (真光&寶血都係)

No, based on my experience as my kid is currently studying in KCS KG, she had no exposure to Mandarine before PN, only Eng. and Cantonese........ But of course, each kid is different.  If you find your kid already very slow in learning one or two languages, of course, you should not let her start a 3rd language now lah.

北角衛理堂 is also a good KG, 活動教學 and the teachers that I have met are caring and cheerful.  I trust your child will have happy life there.  I also like this school ga.

I also had offer from its PN previously, but I finally choosen 蘇淅 as 蘇淅 is much stronger in language, both Mandarine and English.  Up to my knowledge, 北角衛理堂  does not have English lesson every day in KG (none in PN tim). 北角衛理堂's belief is that children can learn  best in their own mother language, so, they use Cantonese as the only medium of instruction in PN and then supplement with some English in KG (I remember twice per week when I asked 1.5 years ago).  This theory is also what the government encouraged, see if you "buy" it or not lah.
