我想請各位指教一下…

在2001年或之前出世:
請問你們有否讓孩子遲一年入K1?  如不,那你們的孩子即是該屆的細囝細囡啦。而在面試時(大約十月十一月),孩子也還沒有2歲。請問你們的孩子在面試時ok嗎?

因我的孩子是02年12出世,而我想今年幫他報讀05年K1,但又不知他能否應付年尾的面試。我想請問一下各位的經驗 。

在2002年出世:
請問你們會今年報讀05年K1或遲一年呢?

my girl was born in Nov 01, though not as small as a Dec kid.  She attended interview for K1 last year.  Of course, she appeared baby-like when compared with other applicants.  I saw the elder kids were already roting A-Z and rehearsing "飲歌" while waiting for the interview!  Then I knew there was little chance for her to get into the "dream school".  The difference was very obvious.  But that's natural, right??

My sister's son also born in late 2001 and he already attended several "exam" by various kindergartens.  He got no problem at all.   He will be in the ESF this September.

If your kid have gone to playgroup or even not, but you have play with her at home, it still be fine.

Don't worry much about the kid is 細囝細囡 lar.  My daughter also born in 2002 and I have already targetted her some kindergartens for this year's entrance exam.

Don't worry, be happy!!  Take it easy!!!

my girl born in 4 Jan 01. and I sent her to K1 in 4 sept 2003.

I sent her to playgroup once a week when she was 20 months old.  and let her start her shool when she was 2yr 8 mon old.  

so far so good. no problem at all. she is the youngest kid in the class but she never cry at school. During the group interview, her performance was good. she was wlling to chat with the teachers and share toys with other kids. I think this is the advantages of joining playgroup before attending kindergarten.

這是我囡囡的經驗:

出生於二零零零年十一月,
零二年底,去民生面試,進入課室時,沒有哭但亦對老師不秋不啋,兩分鐘後,大哭,唯有離開,結果不被取錄

隔約數星期,去宣道面試,進入課室與老師玩得很好,亦回答老師提問,例如會識答:蘋果,車...離開時很開心,跟老師說再見,
結果,列入後補名單,但沒被取錄


零三年九月我讓她入讀屋村附近的學校,很開心,每天也告訴我上學的情形及老師很好

零三年約十二月,去培正面試,因為培正只收足三歲的小朋友,
六個小朋友一齊見老師,不準家長陪,我問囡囡,老師問仲什麼問題,她說問她住址,囡囡識答,結果取錄了!

零四年她會轉校去培正,希望她會開心!

Thx to all your replies and concerns.

I'm not insisted to get into the 'dream school' lah.  The reason why I ask is because... One day when i was talking to my colleague on my son's speak progress, she mentioned that the children will have to answer verbally in the interview. But my son is still speaking less now so I wonder if he can do this at then.

I understand that the child development is natural and can't be rushed.  I don't mind to postpone 1yr if he's still not yet ready to school.  I've just queried that how other "small BB" handle the kindergarden interviews.

Anyway, your experience and sharing really make me feel better and take out my worries.

我囡都係超細,係01年12月尾出生,
佢今年係德寶入K1,佢係上年10月面試時,
一次已經得了,面試時佢真係唔係好識講野,
只能講單字,老師問佢野冇反應,我當時好擔心呀,
但當老師叫佢填顏色,佢竟然有反應呀!
老師比一枝好粗的顏色筆佢,佢竟然唔要,
佢指住老師手上的原子筆,老師比佢佢即刻寫落本書到,
老師問我地平時係唔係比原子筆佢寫字,我話係,
老師讚佢,佢話我個囡知道自己想要什麼,反應快因佢
可以即刻察覺到自己手上唔係自己想要的野喎,
其實我覺得老師都明白小朋友咁細一定唔係好識講野,
所以會注重考反應

其實遲讀一年都係好事,
小朋友各方面都成熟些,
學習能力又高些,
將來做人自信心都大些,
況且一世留留長, 遲讀一年又何所謂呢?
除非想囝囡快些出來工作, 賺錢啦!

I understand your point.  As mentioned before, I don't mind my son to take K1 one year later.

Anyway, I'll still let my son try this year (interview) to get some experience lor.

本人仔仔未夠兩歲四個月已入讀救世軍幼兒園, 都好容易適應學校生活, 每天返到屋企就唱d新歌仔比我地聽, 早d返學都幾好呀
至於interview, 冇咩問題問小朋友, 剩係問佢鍾唔鍾意返來玩, 只係見吓面, 比九龍塘d校輕鬆好多, 家長冇咩壓力

I support Twinsmother's comments.

No need to be the youngest BB in class.  There are more advantages to be a Big BB than a young BB.... Leadership, langauage ability, self confidence..... 佢地咁細個, 差幾個月difference, 分別好大架...大仔仲無咁易病添

I know being a big boy/girl would be better, but I feel no good (my personally feeling ja) if I don't try this year.  Besides, all of us can get some interview experience ma.

I agree with you that "但我也會嘗試今年給他考幼稚園，得咪比佢讀，唔得咪出年讀囉".  This is what I'm thinking now.

I raised up this topic here is to seeking more advice, experience and real cases from other 細囝細囡 who are or were in K1.  Then, we'll have a overall picture that what's the problem of being a 細囝細囡 in interview and K1.

I know some 細囝細囡 go to K1 according to the schedule; some take 1.5yrs nursury, ie. postponed 1yr for K1 lah; some repeat K1 when parents find they're fall behind.  Everyone has his/er own way so we firstly consolidate the comments and decide later lah.

Sorry that if I misled any 細囝細囡 parents that  "going to K1 as soon as possible is good" lah.  I repeat, "我會嘗試今年給他考幼稚園，得咪比佢讀，唔得咪出年讀囉".

Let's share your experience together lah.

我大嫂個囝都係2001年12月出世,
佢都給囝囝嘗試考2004年K1入學,
佢個囝居然考到, 仲要係保良局歐陽少芳幼稚園.
但結果我大嫂都係放棄唔讀.
佢話囝囝太細讀書會好辛苦.
一個年頭讀, 同一個年尾讀書小朋友會相差好遠!

Thx for your sharing.  I understand your point.  It's true that usually "一個年頭讀, 同一個年尾讀書小朋友會相差好遠".  But I've heard that some parents said their children are ok.  So I'll see if my son's development is capable to study K1 next year.

my daughter was born in 12/2002 also

I understand that there is great difference in speech and skill development among the 18- 3 year olds children
however, there is not much gap between the children at 5-6yrears old at primary school level
so I will let my daughter try the interviews

moreover, primary school admission policy is a lucky draw system
