SKH Central am/pm URGENT

I really want to know this:

Does am / pm sessions make any difference on chances of promotion to primary schools? How come some people say it's easy for a.m. graduates to go to St. Paul College/St. Paul Co-ed etc.

Does anyone know the propertion or any case that pm kids are accepted too?

My boy is accepted for K2 pm the coming Sept. Don't know whether he should stay in SHCK (am) or go to the pm class in SKH.

Dear ErnieMama,

I don't think it is a matter about AM or PM session on the acceptance in St. Paul Co-ed or else.

I guess it really depands on the kids performance during the interview.

Anyway, my daughter will join SKH in coming K-1.

I also think you choose Sacred Heart tim. What session will your daughter study, am/pm? My girl is pm.
Did you do the registration last week in SKH? How about Sacred Heart then. Also paid the fee? Heard that they have to pay the school fee in early May.

Hum, since both my husband and I like SKH more than SH after all, we therefore made up our mind and decided to go for SKH.

We have already did the registration in SKH (PM) session.

So, are you also given up the seat in SH? Same as me?

Actually my girl only accepted by SKH but not SH. I used to think if my girl was accepted by SH, I will let her study there. Because the chances to get into their primary school is high. And SH is indeed a very good school in both educational and discipline. So when I saw your message before, I guess you would choose SH. But now, really surprised that you've finally chosen SKH.

Of course, SKH is as good as SH. I think their only difference is one has primary and secondary schools but the other doesn't.

Let's see whether our girls will be in the same class or not!

Agree, the only difference is SKH doesn't have the one-dragon primary to support.

But indeed, I think as long as our kids get well development in both academic and personality aspects in SKH, primary school is not a big concern.

Dear twyam,

Thanks for your sharing. I was worried coz pm classes only started from 04-05. But I've enrolled him yesterday for K2 anyway. Teachers are the same for both sessions. My dream primary schools are those subsidized ones e.g St. Peters or Kei Yan.

Basically I want him to enjoy more of his childhood as this boy is too active and SHCK is not indeed right for him as I've been observing for almost 1 yr.

Having said that, I think other securing a place with SHCK are lucky as long as the kids, esp girls (one-stop schools) are more of an obedient type, active doesn't matter but happy to listen to teachers' instructions e.g. always raise a hand before doing anything. It's a good place to train up children's discipline.

It's well organized, experienced and well equipped. So congratulations, Little_CY.

Candy925 later on there will be applicants giving up with SHCK and going to others like St. Paul Convent, still chance for your girl and you can also write a letter to show your sincerity.

Yes, it's a big decision coz it's unlikely that Nicole goes to SHCK next yr, and I appreciate SHCK's high quality and kindness as always.

Ernie is kinda active but short in word at school & also diffident in making friends who seem smarter than him. Too much actions and hugging girls makes him sometimes unpopular with teachers and girls. Playing rough is not right in kindergarten and I guess it's similar situation in SKH but at least more boys there and his excessive passion won't be bugging boys as much.

His father likes to play rough with him, maybe he was watching too much ruby in NZ. I'll take both kids to the church on Sunday and hopefully see some changes in him.

Dear stccmc,

Any good of Victoria? Good but no religion which can improve his conduct, I guess.

For int'l, no much Chinese lesson for him. His ability will be weaker than local kids. His father wants him to start secondary school in Oz/NZ and so Chinese proficiency is my concern. They enjoy the toys, and hopefully the class, in Baptist church on Sunday. Indeed it's sort of help from them to teach children.
