請教DWE用家, 關於 DWE

My girl (3.2 years) will be NEARLY finishing the main programme 12 books and 27 cd.

Do you know any similar books that my girl further study ?????

What I prefer is 【BOOK + CD】, cd tell kid story and ask question.

DWE user, do you know any similar cd ?????  Or will anybody sell similar ???????

Note : I have bought GC products, 'Easy to Read', Level 1,2,3, but it seems it's not the kind that I want .

Please help.

You can try "Step into Reading". They have books with CDs.

I have been using GC "First Step into Reading". yes, they have books with CDs. But comparing with DWE, it is too simple for my girl.

BTW, no question in CD ! Just telling us the story.

東西圖書's "First Steps to Reading"

is DIFFERENT from

Random House's "Step into Reading"

I have both and I found them totally different. This is my girl's favourite:

One Book with 1 CD is about HK$75. There are over 20-30 books on Step 1 and there are totally 5 steps, i.e. over 100 books. You can pick the level that fits your kid.

Sorry, I was mis-lead that you were talking 東西圖書's "First Steps to Reading"

Where can I buy "Step into Reading" in Hong Kong, I am living in Tseung Kwan O, and working in Jordan. Where can I buy it from ?????? Any their agent ????? Can you sell one for me. I don't mind it is 2nd hand, I am willing to pay you $75. Thank you.

I will try one book first. Is it similar with DWE, firstly introduce the story, then ask question ?????? Is it suitable for K1 or much junior ???????

Sorry, now, I understand what you mean by "ask question for the CD".

I think "Step into Reading" fails this requirement as well, as its CD is just story telling, i.e. read the story line by line.

If you are looking for "question and answer" like teaching materials, I think you could check (1) GoGo, (2) English-Time or (3) Montessori.

(1) For GoGo, it is VCD instead of book+CD. The VCD first tells the story, and it will ask questions about the story.

(2) For English-Time, I think it should have functions similar to DWE.

(3) For Montessori, this products mainly focus on reading books (instead of video like DWE/ET), maybe you could check with the sales of Montessori to see whether the product offers the Q&A CD with books.

I have English-Time also, but I don't want her focus on mon also. Their cd is just to read the book sentences by sentences. they don't have Q&A cd.

Any further opinion ?????

Umm... How about Montessori or LeapPad or Pop-up English? Have you checked these 3?

For me, I like to read books with my baby, so, "I" am the "Q&A machine" in my baby's eyes

BTW, you are really a hard-working parent, you have found lots of materials for your girl

I have GC Let's find out, similar to leappad, but the QA is very very very simple.

I don't know much about 'Montessori', as far as I know, this is a kind of learning system/method. Do they have books + cds ?????

Honestly, I am NOT hard-working mum, I am a very very lasy mum. so that why I need cd to help me. After daily housework, I am very very tired~~~~ What I want to do is simply switch on the cd machine, she will turn the page by herown. I am sitting beside her. If she cannot answer, I will help her.

I like DWE, it really help those lazy kind like me.

nn, or other mamy, do you know any material have Q&A cd ????????????

Being a mother is a life-time job, we really need supports and incentives to continue to do a good job! Heehee, I just bought a few books for "myself" yesterday, books are my incentives

the books are all about how to teach children, hope I can learn something from the experts

Start to teach them how to read books on their own. Oxford Reading Tree is a good choice.
Can be borrowed from Public library, many available.

Start to see English TV program on their own, no more than one hour per day.

Sesame Street: Mon - Fri 4:00 - 5:00 pm, Pearl.
Barney: Mon, Wed, Fri, around 4 pm, ATV World.
Bob the Builder, Thomas, Clifford: Sat, 4:20 - 5:10 pm, ATV World.
(Pick the one they like. LIMITED TIME & QUANTITY.)

Start teaching PHONICS.

May I know when did you buy "Step into Reading"? Is it suitable to almost 2yrs old child?
