We are local HK, daughter currently in HKIS reception year, worried about her Chinese exposure, luckily received offer from ISF foundation year. From my observation, daughter really enjoys schooling in HKIS, not sure if we can switch her to a new school.
Also heard there is high student turnover in secondary in ISF. Any advice?

They are very different schools.  A lot of parents here would regard HKIS as one of the top tier international schools in HK, whilst many still debate whether or not ISF is an international school.

If learning Chinese (traditional characters) + Mandarin is an important factor to you and your daughter, then go for ISF.  If not, then stick to HKIS.

If you plan to go to USA for university, HKIS is better recognised and provide full assistance and full compliance to USA curriculum.

Both are good schools, very different though. By the way, there is no requirement that students should do US curriculum to go to US uni. In fact, IB is highly regarded by US admission officers. The ISF 2016 graduating class has so far received unconditional offers from Stanford, U of Penn, U of Washington, UCLA, NYU ... I don't have any figures but my impression is that ISF students tend to prefer US uni to UK uni.

US universities LOVES IB students!
Not only ISF alone but other IB schools in HK as well have sent LOTS of students to ivy leagues, stanford, etc.
I do not know HKIS and ISF well enough to compare their counselling teams. But if you are interested in going to the US, you need to find a school with very good counselling team to support your application.
A professional counselling team play a less important role if you are applying to HK or UK universities.

It is difficult for international applicants (not US or green card holders) to be admitted by Ivies, Stanford, MIT, Duke or the likes. Usually, those schools admits 6 to 10% of international students. In other words, each school admits 120 to 160 foreign students each year. Bearing in mind the number of countries, on average, only one or two students from one country is admitted by a Ivy college or its equivalent.

The college placement result of a school does not give a complete picture if it does not let us know how many successful applicants to Ivy are US or Green Card holders.

I think no need to consider that far, just ask yourself if learning Chinese is of your prime importance or not. If yes go for ISF if not HKIS.
