Hi! My elder son was very shy too, so same as what you think now, we enrolled him into Mr. Leung's course, hoping that he would be more talkative, at least in the P1 interviews.
Turned out that Mr. Leung obviously had no training in how to teach kids. He said, in front of my boy that, "This kid is no good, won't speak up..."
My boy was quite happy after the first lesson. But several sessions later, he refused to go. I don't know what has happened but then
the last session was open to parents. We went and saw that they had kids who were older that the supposed age range ie young kids mixed with big kids. They had a quiz. My boy raised up his hand every time but because he was slower than the big kids, he was never given a chance to answer!
I won't mind if they combine classes because of inadequate no. of kids but shouldn't they make some adjustments and give the small kids some allowance?
I was really upset after this course.
I rarely bad-mouth courses or tutors. This is the one and only one course that I recommend against.
If your kid is talkative and want to further improve his speech skills, this course may be useful.
If, unfortunately, your kid is as shy as mine and needs encouragement instead of more frustration, please forget about this course.
It is not just a waste of money but is actually doing harm. It's been some time since we had the course but yes, I'm still mad at how they handled my child! Every time I think of it, I want to |
