All DSS/private school only sign 1 or 2-yr contract with teachers now. Iif some teachers left, either the teachers wanted to change to a new school or the school did not want to renew the contract with him/her. Therefore there are many reasons for losing teachers.
As far as I've noticed, more teachers are needed because of its expanding number of classes ( 5 classes each year). So that A-school needs to employ at least 10 more teachers ( 2 class teachers for each class). Also, more teachers joined this year because apart from Eng lesson, kids will have a chance to learn Math in small groups also. All of these were explained clearly in the curriculum evening and many new faces were there.
My son has grown a lot every year. I was very happy to see him asking to do rehearsal for his show and tell with ppt at home, telling me that he needed to be more prepared because there would be Q and A section. He also enjoys doing his IS experiment at home, writing his findings everyday.
