Hello 08 IK1 parents,

I am a 09 IK1 parent and would like to know more about the IK2 arrangement after the school voucher scheme.

Before the school voucher scheme, there should be 1.5 hrs English and 1.5 hrs PTH session in half-day IK1; 3 hrs English and 3 hrs PTH session in full-day IK2.

After the school fee reduction for the school voucher scheme, the arrangement in half-day IK1 becomes 1 hr English and 2 hrs PTH session. May I know what is the arrangement in full-day IK2 after the school voucher scheme?

Moreover, I am looking for small size uniform for my daughter (summer and/or winter). Grateful if any parent can help.

Here comes the latest information from TT. May I have your comments after 8-month study in IK1.

TSUNG TSIN ENGLISH SPEAKING STREAM KINDERGARTEN

For the year 2009-2010

	HALF DAY (p.m. only)	WHOLEDAY
School fees	HK$2,400	HK$4,750
Classes	IK1, IK2, IK3	IK2, IK3
English lessons per day By Native English teacher	One hour	Three hours
Putonghua lessons per day by Native Putonghua teacher	Two hours	Two hours
Language using in the classroom	English and Putonghua	English and Putonghua
Remarks:	Will enjoy the voucher scheme. This scheme allows for a total of $12,000 to be deducted from school fees, in 10 installments of $1,200.

Hello snowB,

My daughter will join IK1 in the coming September and I will choose whole-day IK2 next year.

I want the existing IK parents to share some comments on the quality of the course after the school fee reduction due to voucher scheme (It seems that class size is larger and have to share English NET teacher among classes).

Do the English NET teacher also need to share among classes in whole-day IK2? Moreover, the PTH session for whole-day IK2 was reduce from 3Hrs to 2Hrs. Where is the one hour go? Is there any nap time for whole-day IK2?

So many question! Thank you for your patience.

我都考慮緊呀！十五十六咁囉。不過如你想轉你必須寫信申請。
昨日觀課亞囝全程對住我喊，完全唔理課堂上緊乜，激死。

不大明白你指的 course 是什麼？
學校是用一般的教科書 + reader + 校本上課的。4年前小女讀與現在都是一樣，不過出版社轉了而已，我覺得現在的更好。
我不覺得學校會將教程與學費掛鉤，轉用學劵便教差一些。不過與早期的國際班比，的確外籍老師留於課室的時間是少了，不過學費亦比前便宜了(因接受學劵)，我記得之前半日班已要 $3600。坊間其他幼稚園如亞仔之前考慮的 york，也不是每天有外籍老師上課呢。
另，半日班與全日班的課程是一樣的，而主流教的與全英語部的也一樣。
班與班之間share 外籍老師是真的，IK1 外籍老師英文課每天一小時，IK2 全日則增至 3 小時，不過是否 share 則不知道了，你擔心 share 老師有壞影響嗎？
全日班是有 nap time 的，也有做功課時間。

Thank you for your information.
"Course" refer to the IK programme as a whole. I choose TT IK programme because I want my kid can have exposure in native English and PTH environment. So, the duration for the English and PTH session is very important to me. I concern most on the quality rather than school fee. The comment on the IK programme is very good before. As the introduction of the school voucher scheme from 2008, the English session in IK1 was shorten and the English teacher has to be shared among classes(as the information from the principal, it is due to the school fee reduction to cater for the school voucher scheme), I concern about the quality of the programme after this change. And thus, ask 08 IK1 parents to give some comments. How're the school life of their kids in IK1? Are they happy -willing to go to school? How're their language skill - able to communicate in English and PTH?
Thanks a lot for your information again. How're your daughter now? Does she study in TT Primary School International Stream?

Hello snowB,

May I know which school you choose now and why don't stay at TTPS? After studying in IK for three years, can your daughter communicate fluently in both English and PTH? How about the other area (such as Maths) apart from language? I am still struggling on my choice for bilingual study.

另外，學校係唔會發通告問你轉唔轉全日的喇，會引起大混亂，如有人有需要會好似一家三口或我咁自動波問左 lu，不過我們開過家庭會議，都是決定讀下午班，因為家姊的關係，亞仔早睡不到，早起睡不夠會影響他的學習同情緒。

一家三口，你沒此問題嗎？家姐的功課 + 溫習黙書，他們倆十時才睡的。

沒選祟小只為經濟考慮，沒特別原因，小女現就讀長沙灣基 X 小學。
After studying in IK for three years, can your daughter communicate fluently in both English and PTH?
--> 因為亞女從小由菲傭湊大，她對英文是不抗拒的。至於PTH，由於小女是讀上午主流的，每天 PTH 課只一小時，3 年幼稚園期間我看不到她的進度(我也不懂說 PTH 嘛)，但一上小學便發現她適應得好好，可以以普通話讀課文。而亞仔今年是讀IK的，反而我好明顯看到分別，亞仔的英語及普通話都不錯，平常對話中都有一兩句普通話夾雜的，所以我對 TTK 的IK 是比 10 個好的！

How about the other area (such as Maths

) apart from language?
--> 至於數學，今年學校轉了書，我暫時說不出如何，但早期數學都是長短、大小、認識數字等較基礎的。

因為我唔用工人啦, 所以比囡囡返全日囉.兩個都返全日, 真係唔駛煩. 識應問題只係遲早的事, 習慣吓所可以啦.
