What is the annual fee and is it an international school?

After the graduation in K3, can your BB choose local primary school?

Dear bbpoon,

The annual fee (for K3) is HK$36000 per annum.

It is an international school with 2 teachers (one Chinese and one English speaking) and 1 supportive teacher per class.

Of course, most of the K3 graduates choose local primary school (either private or subvented).

My daughter will enter K1 in a kindergarten near our home in coming Sept.  I am thinking whether I should arrange her to enter St. Chatherine next year.i.e. at K2.
What is the chances of entering K2 ?
I did not apply for K1 because she need to 'travel quite far way'.
Just want to know if the kid can adapt easily to enter at K2 instead of K1.
I heard that St. Catherine starts teaching Phonics at K2.  Right ?
Is there a lot of homework ?

My daughter will study K2 at SC in coming Sept. I know SC's teached Phonics at K2, I'm not sure about the status of homework at K2, but only one kind of homework per week at K1 last year.

Do you mean that St. Catherine only has 2 grades, K2 and K3 ?  and they have no K1 classes ?
Then do they have any minimum age requirement for enrolment ?

Dear PeonyLeung,

I can share with you as my daughter will study in St Catherine K3 coming September.
SC taught Phonics since K2.
The homework is 2 pages of workbook (either Chinese, English or Maths) each day.
A Chinese story book will be distributed every weekend to read and one more page of homework for that story book will be done (either drawing or writing).

Your child will have to learn to write his/her name in English or Chinese next year in K2.

For SC, all the writing and teaching materials (except Chinese story books and Oxford series) are all written by SC, so no need to buy books for kids.

Dear youngyoungmama,

SC has K1 (Nursery), K2 (Lower) and K3 (Upper).

The minimum age requirement is 2 years 8 months old for K1.
The school will group students of similar age in one class.

Are you difficult to enter in K1(Nusery)? Do you consider the primary school now?

Dear bbpoon,

The school bus fee depends on how far you live. There are not much misc. fee.

It is quite difficult to enter K1.
I think I would choose some private schools, and I will choose my son's primary school as back up.
