Hi, all,

I am new here. Today I just started to use my new DWE for my 5-month old baby. I purchased the DWE Mickey set at 35,700.- 3 days ago. My consultant has scheduled the set for me to play and rotate them every week. I am not always staying at home, because always have to go for overseas trips. Therefore, I have taught my Indonesian maid to play according to the schedule.

Just want to share the above and would like to hear any advices from other users of DWE having the similar situation as I do.... I am very worried if the DWE set cannot be used probably, becos I really feel very 'meat-pain' for spending 35,700- in case it doesn't work for my kid.

Pls share your experience, thanks a lot!

Is your Indonesian maid speck english? I am working also and my son start to use this programme when he is six months. My philiphine maid help to play the programme with him most of the time. I just ask her to follow the schedule to play with him. Around one and half years old my son can sing the whole ABC song and happy birthday song. Now he is 4, he have graduate the certificate of DWE. I think you hire the maid can speak english is much helpful for your son. He have more chance to speak english.

每個小朋友的schedule都唔同, 要配合每個小朋友的生活環境和習慣. 因為這套課程是要順其自然, 令小朋友自動自覺去學習才有效. 其實如果大家work落套programme有問題, 小朋友失去學習的興趣就要找妳的dwe的教育顧問或fanｃｌｕｂ的家長熱線查詢．我ｗｏｒｋ套ｐｒｏｇｒａｍｍｅ時都有發生問題，　都是問下問下改善出來．但是我覺得只學唔講是無用，要邊學邊講才有效．這是我個人的意見．

Hi All

Have you asked your maids to join the "Introduction Class", i.e., let them know how to use the CDs, DVDs...?  Is it good??  Any notes for them?

Do I need to tell my maid the purpose of it before she goes??

其實如果小朋友未超過一歲,學習外語是超快的,我朋友個仔十個月買,兩歲就講得好似鬼仔咁!如果小朋友巳經大個,就要視乎個小朋友鐘唔鐘意DISNEY卡通啦!如果佢從來都唔睇DISNEY,你千祈唔好買!!!!
我個女五歲先買,佢好鐘意,最大收穫是自己肯睇明珠台D卡通,唔再抗拒英文,未買之前我用左好多方法TUM佢,都提唔起佢睇英文CD或卡通興趣,不過真的很貴!!!

其實如果妳自己清楚點用個schedule可以自己set time table比個工人跟, 教佢平時點同bb玩. 因為佢去到聽左都未必是真是識. 重比機會妳偷懶.

我都同意, 因為大個左佢多左好多選擇,是比較難吸收, 是越細越好.

銘銘媽,

我都是問得多吸收返來的心得, 而且我比左甘多錢買這套programme, 無理由有問題就放棄. 佢成功妳都會有大的滿足感.

我囡囡ZOE現在5個半月大,用DWE已經有個半月,囡囡最愛PLAY ALONG 1 & SING ALONG 1,PLAY ALONG 2 就只愛看上半PART,你們有這個經驗嗎??(只喜愛某首歌或某些動作)
有這個TOPIC真好,希望以後可以多些機會分享心得啦!!

我個囝囝而家2歲, 我岩岩先買左一set super micky,其實我買得會唔會太遲呢? 佢睇左幾日playalong, 見佢都有時跟住做動作及睇得幾開心, 佢而家都唔識講野,所以我都有d擔心, 想問下你地, 以你地既經驗, 點樣先令到佢日日睇都唔覺得悶呢? 我驚遲d佢會睇厭左...請指教~~

I've taken Super Micky Set when my son was 2 monts.  He is 10 months now.  He loves Play Along very much.  He will follow claping when froggy is clapping.

I just think that we have to put more time to play with them, and we can see the achievement.

Thanks for your kind reply. I have used the DWE for almost 1 month soon. My maid is using it very well. She sticks with the schedule and try to get the toys and books and flip with my baby when they are free. My indonesian maid doesn't speak English. However, I have briefed her when the DWE set arrived. I told her since I have purchased with huge of money, I wish you and my baby can learn English together. I told her it is very important to play the DVDs and CDs according to the schedule. I introduced everything to her about the DWE set - toys, books- posters... and I said if baby can speak english evry well in the future, this will show that she did a great job for my baby and rewards and clappings will go to her directly. And I said if she can learn English too, it will benefit to herself in her employement of the future. She really does what i said very serious... and always hugs my baby to point at the posters.... I am so happy, becos i didn't waste what i have pay for ~

But I think you better remind your maider don't force your BB to see the DVD, CD or poster. If your BB don't want to see the DVD, just let it playd and let your BB do what he want. Every day play two time DVD is enough, but you can play CD many time.

yes.... i did... I always remind my maid never force baby to do sth she doesn't like, even drinking milk or water. So, sometimes even baby falls asleep, I just let the DVD goes while she is sleeping. I only play DVD for twice a day - the sing along and play along. My husband tries his best to be with my baby when playing play along in evening and play with her with the toys accompanied with the DWE set.

I wish my baby can speak native as your son can do~ By the way, may I ask how old was your son when he starts to use DWE?? Did you communicate with him by 100% English at home? or just educated by DWE?? becos we tried our best to speak more english at home, but really can't do it....

My son start to see DWE when he was 10 month and I have hired the philipine maid. She talk english with her in day time and when I come back I talk english and cantonese with him. My husband talk cantonese with him. Due to the multi language with him, he talk late about 2.5 years old. But the first time he can talk in 1.5 years is singing the whole song of Alphabet song and happy birthday song.  
You are very good parent to work hard on this. But for my experience, have a time table for your children is good. Example: From morning to afternonn is talking english and at night is talking cantonese.

So, that was your effort to make your son can speak english so well! I feel very happy and confident after viewing your message as you son can speak so good when he started DWE at 10 months. My baby is now amost 6 months, she has used DWE for 1 months. Now, I usually speak english with my baby and my husband 90% speaks to her in Cantonese. But I am always not akways in Hk with my baby. So the opportunties she listens in English is much lower than listening to cantonese. i wish DWE can compensate this. at the meantime, by playing DWE everyday, my maid learnt english very fast too.. !

Now I am considering about the kindergarten for her. I don't want to send my kid to international school, however, i would like to let her to study in a kinder which will use more % in English as a teaching media. Do you have any suggestions? thanks for your kind reply.
