Re: 蔡繼友 2nd in 通知.......
I noted with interest that CKY is sometimes compared with TSL. For parents who are a bit indecisive over which school is more suitable to their kids. If I may, I wish to share some of my experience or observation. (Remark: I'm a CKY parent)
CKY is a through-train school from year 1 up to year 12. So far, the Principals have been walking their talk about happy learning, and about their vision of pursuing IB Diploma in year 11 & 12, while TSL is a DSS primary school. You may say CKY detaches itself from the conventional HK system, but their students have a choice (though some argue the chances are lower) of entering HK universities thru IBD. Those feeling uncomfortable and not confident enough with the "IBD plan" should NOT choose CKY.
TSL, on the other hand, still falls under the HK education system - meaning their students have to go thru all those tests/assessments as required by EMB. For those parents who are more into (or feeling more secure with) the current education system, TSL seems a more fitting choice.
Last of all, it's the dollar-sign that matters. CKY parents should be prepared to forfeit the 9-year free education, and pay a certain premium for school fees for the next 12 years or so.
I hope the above could help and clarify that CKY and TSL are NOT quite similar, their applications/interview procedures might seem similar though.
To conclude, those taking TSL as their dream school should not think CKY is a good fall-back. By the same token, those fancying CKY's philosophy should not take TSL as a 'less expensive' alternative.
Don't make a wrong choice for your kids! Good luck.
