自從轉左做直資, 成日d人都話收生係睇家長背景同職業. 我想問下佢地學生既家長多數係乜野專業? 有冇家長係大學講師或者中小學老師?

Co-edu轉直資只是收生問題。未轉直資前後家長背景同職業分別不大，有大學講師、(中小學老師即 St. Paul Co-edu現任老師or old boys & girls)，專業即x司、x 司 & xx司，x 官& xx官，xx上市ceo..... 夠未

According to my observation, (agreed by many of my friends as well) children of mid-class and professional parents are given OBVIOUS higher priority.

One proof: these kids are always interviewed sooner.

This is 無可厚非 because the magic-wand is in her hand.

I mean, just don't be naive to believe those beautiful lies easily, especially don't think that your kids are inferior if they are not granted the 2nd interview.

Of course, kids with so-so family background can still be admitted, but they have to perform very very extra outstanding. Imagine the headmistress has interviewed 1500 kids, she must have got that 200 candidates list already. Only kids with very impressive performance can raise her eyebrow and replace any shortlisted.

All kids are "still" equal. There is no inferior child, only inferior parents exist in this game. Get back to the real world, my pals!!

agree! the children of "so so" background and without any "relationships" are really brilliant, I believe. No further comment.

當然平凡家庭子弟都有機會--六合彩都總會有人中咁解!
唔好太介懷得失, 我老闆對仔女都係讀spcc, 就我眼見, 上流社會既野, 好多我地唔明架喇.........校方都講明, 70%名額留俾d有connection既學生.........
我唔係話spcc有咩唔好, 直到今日我都好佩服李校長既管理有道, 學生亦好多好outstanding, 不過, 就admission問題, 真係............

In my case, our kid is just a normal 5 years old kid and without professional background. We are so lucky to accept by SPCC. I felt quite worry on our 2nd interview, but in fact the principal is very kind and nice. She shared her own views on how to train the SPSS students to be leaders in the future, and we don't have any feeling of discrimination.
Actually, i heard from the other parents and they also accept by SPSS with no special background. The school is not so "Royal" as we think and the students there are also polite as other school.
However, in the first interview, ability and luck are very important.

For those who are not admitted by the school, can try again in F.1. They have many places for brilliant students in each primary school and they don't need to pay for the first year. I heard about that most of the primary principal can nominate one kids to SPSS (the bright one in P6) with full scholarship.
Don't give up!

I agree most with Charlotte_mom.

I still have to point out -> performance does not equal ability, especially when the scope included is so small and limited, given that short period of time.

There is no doubt about the need for parents' cooperation. This is the right track and the way it ought to be for early education.

However, it seems that this is their only obvious edge over soso families for the abundant "resources" they've got. At least they can hire as many private tutors as they want. Right?

Again. This is 無可厚非.

Hi,

Some observations in SPCCPS :-

1. Parents who are either very rich and hire tutors, or well educated professionals devoting themselves to be a full time mother.

2. Many kids already show their special talents at a very young age, such as being highly observant, learn very fast, are highly motivated, love challenges, and some can read Harry Potter at Primary One.

Intergrated from my friends, or my friends' friends'background, whose child are in SPCCPS，they are rich to very rich, upper middle class to upper class.

The families background should be classified as Top class. If any reporters are here, please take a photo on September 1st, you will see how rich are they !
Almost all are driven to school by driver.

有個"奇怪"現象. 身邊都識唔少大學professor/lecturer, 又有中學教師, 佢地小朋友都係乖仔乖女, 又聰明又有禮, background雖未至very rich, 但係都唔差. 不過, 佢地考co-edu通通唔得, 反而考入其他家長認為既dream school, Eg. DBSPC, DGS, Paul Convent, HKUGA...

係咁岩咁橋, 定係co-edu唔prefer收同業既子女, 免得有學界既比較?

If you think driving to school is an indicator, you should go to St. Paul's Convent School, and no need to be on 1st September, you can see tens of Mercedes everyday.

If Co-edu is belonged to private school, I don't care what kind of students they accepted. But it is a DSS school.............

弘立書院也是學費最貴的一條龍私校, anyone complaint how rich their students comes from. At least, I won't!
