hello MrsLee,
i haven't started the preparation of the exam with my gal yet.....we've gotten 2 dictations in this week ar!  will be a good mother this weekend to do so  :-x  
it's not easy for us on the 1st term exam (don't know where to start !!!)

Hi, fannyyu and Mrs Lee,

How do you review and prepare the kids for exam? For the tests last time, I tried to wrap up what has been taught and prepared some questions for my girl. This ends up using me a lot of time and I cannot imagine why I'd suddenly become "a teacher" le.

hi K-C-L,
i am not an experience mom, it's my 1st time (so does my gal :)).  i rub off the answers on those worksheets/workbooks and have my gal to work on it once again.  in fact, my gal's chinese is not good at all.  i need more time to read with her.  so, i read the text books with her again and again.  general studies is the hardest to review.....what do you think?  i also work on those old worksheets + the workbook revision only.  i agree with the way you did,  on the english one i also did some questions for her to work on last time.  it's good to keep it!  good luck!

KCL & Fanny,

I would spend time to scan the text-books during the summer holiday and take print out for revision purpose before test/exam..... thus buy some 補充 exercise text-book to let my girl try difference kind of test question format.  Just let her have 1 or 2 papers when time is available all through the year.....

I was too busy these days and so did not do much revision with my gal this time

Anyway....Exam is over )))))

We shall have hiking with familes of some classmates this Sunday !

Yeah, exam was finished and I did have great time with my kids over the weekend. I really need some time to recover before another round starts again.

Thanks for your advice on revision. Do u have any recommendation of supplementary exercises? There are soooo many different kinds in the market.

I would like to recommand 'Lok See' & 'Longman 90 days series'... I feel they are just good for TL kids.

Dear Mrs Lee,

Thanks a lot.   
My girl told me this morning that the General Studies only got 可+.   I know she is not happy about that and I need to give her more encouragement in return although I don't know why and also feel not good. Hope she can do better. Lucky for the other three subjects she can still get good marks.

Nevermind for getting D+ You are right to encourage her ! You may request to see her exam paper when getting exam report from teacher so that you can know what's happen to her at that subject.   If she can't finish all the questions ... may be teach her some exam skill ... such as skipping those she doesn't know how to do instead of spending time over there.

your gal is very smart that to tell you all her marks.  my one only told me 2 out of 4 after i asked her tonite.  she claimed that she didn't realise it is important to tell me  :-x   though, the english and chinese she kept telling me she has not seen the paper yet

there's nothing mark on the handbook in these few days regarding the exam ar!  

will you go to the seminar held on this sat?  my gal wants to go with me !

is there any 1A parents can share with me, if your kid has mark theirs on the handbook?  please!

Dear fannyyu,

My girl said that the teacher told them to put the marks on a summary page near the end of the handbook. Other subject marks,e.g. visual arts, were also marked. You can ask your kid. Even if she hasn't, never mind, just wait for 2 more weeks, you'll know la.

Sat. seminar? I did mark in my diary long time ago, but it seems to me that there's no further notice recently, so I thought it was cancelled. Did you go? How's that?

Dear Fannyyu,

Dont'l mind your daughter nothing mark on her handbook.  If you have any questions of the exam papers you can go to school to check.  After the exam the school will have a room to give the parents to check the exam papers in a few day. Many of upper class paretns know that, may be you are the new paretns.  I hope this can help you.
