恭喜你,你的女兒能成功入讀Maryknoll. 是大抽獎還是用甚麼特別的途徑,可否賜教? 我還有一個女兒,我想找一間好的男女校,可以益到妹妹.
至於Jolly Faith, 每班約5-6人.因我完全不懂Phonic,所以我曾經試過要求老師讓我一同上堂(因我的兒子完全不會告訴我他學了甚麽,至今亦如是),我所看到是老師會讀一編故事,從中教他們拼音,亦會抽問小朋友.又有一些手語,似打功夫等.整體是o.k. 但老師較為cool,現我換了時間,我問我個仔新老師好定舊好,佢話新好,因新老師好funny. 其實我真係15/16.我住帝堡城,搭車來回要2個鐘.上一個鐘堂,又冇半日. 每堂要HK$190.00.

I heard from another mommy that she has been to Jolly Phonics Beacon Hill and surprised to find that Miss Michelle is working there on weekday.  You may not know that Miss Michelle also works at Wide Eye, it's a really small small world.  And she also mentioned that Miss Michelle is the only blonde hair teacher there.  Is she your son's teacher, how's her teaching ?

My son only join the class on every Sat. So, I don't know who's Miss Michelle. But Jolly faith is teaching Jolly Phonic, But Wide Eye is teaching Letterland. Is it a difference method? I'm really very confuse now. I really hope there has a expert can explain me what's the difference.

Dear crystalss,

Besides Letterland, Wide Eye also use "scholastic", which is a package of story books.  After the assessment, they said Letterland is not suitable to my girl as she has already learnt the basic in SC.  So they suggested her to start from Package 4 of scholastic.

Dear Santungma,

Do you know which one is better for our kids. I really don't have any idea. I just know my kid must learn it as it can be help him ti read easy in the future. You know what, my friend's son learning at Jolly faith, he can pronounce a word even it's not a english word.
I wish my son also can be like this.

Dear crystalss,

I think all of us would like to find the best course to our kids.  But it is really difficult to judge without attending the course.  Just want to say when I was there for inquiry, I saw a little girl (K2, the daughter of the lady who introduced the course content) reading the story book by herself fluently.  I think her standard is quite good and she joined the same class with my girl.

Actually I've went to three different centre in the same building (Global Learning Centre, Macmillen and Wide Eye).  Who knows it's good or not without trying?  Hope that it is the right one for my girl!

Dear Santungma,

I thought you're saying Joyce and her daughter, before I enrolled, Joyce has mentioned that the children can read book after completed the phonics, I suspected during that time.  But after I've seen her daughter read a new english book by herself, I believe phonics works, you know the book she read just like a novel, not the one with big words and pictures, and she's not reach 5 years old.  So we must practice the phonics at home after class, dont put aside the playing cards (although it looks not so nice but who cares, they just like it) i play with my son at least 3 times a week, and I can see his improvements, so work hard with our children !!!!
