為左每星期的中默同英默,一知道默書範圍就要去幫佢溫,用成個星期去準備,真係人都癲,佢地幼稚園的時候又較其他學校淺,去到小一根本銜接唔到. 都唔敢諗測驗的時候會點...

Just received my girl's assessment result.

Although the range of revision seems to be large, the "dictation" only requires the children to recognise the words rather than write the words on their own.  Thus, it was very very easy for them to finish the "dictation".

I think it's rather like a 認字 game than a dictation la.

However, I think I would still ask my girl to learn to write all the words on their own instead of just recognise them.

我女女中默每次範圍係兩課.
英默係默story,一個故事十幾版紙,正式默落簿時又要轉past-tense,不過老師會讀,但一定要聽得清清楚楚,例如buy轉做bought都易聽,但有些字係加"ed",老師讀得快真係好難聽得清楚,所以錯呢類careless mistake就最唔底.

囡囡幼稚園的時候都係讀緊好淺的英文, 好似It is an apple,而家上左小學係全英文,好多字都未學過,平時溫得默書都無時間溫其他科.

我個小朋友次次中,英文黙書都係普普通通, 我又吾係好嬲..（我覺得佢已經好叻了，　因為幼稚園時，　他從未黙過書架）
黙書前, 佢係識晒, 可能黙書時有少少緊張都吾定, 少少careless mistakes, 咪算！！　況且，　我估黙書係佔好少分，　最多咪叫佢測驗時小心d啦

It is very common in all local schools (govt or private) to have Chinese and English dictations every week as described by parents here, there are normally also 2 tests and 2 exams (or more) each year.  So can you avoid all of them?  If so scared, have to consider studying in new type of activity based schools or international schools.

you mean dictation of so many chapters and passages is very common in primary schools nowadays?

until now my daughter does not need to do any homework, quiz, dictation or test ..... yet
