我都識得TSL的家長,佢話除咗英文比較深外,其他科目的程度只係一般,而且自從換咗校長之後,學校一直好混亂!而家重出埋D咁深的題目去考D只有六歲多的小朋友,會唔會嚇親佢地呢?如果間學校程度係咁好的話,佢地的小一學生係咪應該識哂而家學校出嚟考人的題目呢?但實際又未必喎!

As you know, my gal is already accepted by sfa, i am still struggling to go or not.  my husband prefers sfa more but my gal prefers tsl more as one of her friends has admitted to tsl in 1st round as well.  if you were me, how would you choose, tsl or sfa?

We all know that SFA is a traditional school and you have receive no negative comments so far.  Good and positive responses.

For TSL, I do not have much information since I do not apply to this school at the first instance.

You may consider like this:
Give a chance for you parents to understand more the school.  It may be good for you to meet and ask the headmaster directly what you would like to know.
Try to understand why your child like this school so much (Not only because he has friend there).

If you ask me, I will choose SFA as my child from Kentville.  He is familiar with the "style" of education (dictation, worksheet, test papers, etc.).  Just take it as reference only.  I don't want to influence your decision.

For the document to bring, I think as usual.  Birth Certificate, School Reports, Other activities certificates, etc.  If you have send Profile before, just bring along it with you.

Thanks for your view.  I didnt apply this school in the 1st round too.  

I think I will go and see if can explore more abt the school.

My friend told me that:

Some teachers will interview the child - I think as usual what we did in the past.  BUT THEY MAY USE ENGLISH.

For parents, it is interviewed by "senior" teacher but not headmaster.  They have asked before:

(1)  how you teach your child at home
(2)  who take care the child and how
(3)  what activities your child has participated
(4)  As their major media of communication in English, can your child communicate in English himself?  Why you said he can (e.g. he has attended class, speak with the maid, etc.) - think something...

My friend also said that they have a Questionaire (in Chinese) for you to fill in.  Maybe they will ask questions from the Questionaire.

I also suggest you to try for the interview and make up your decision if accepted at later stage.  As I remember, your daughter should also study in Kentville.  For my daughter, I don't let her to attend the written test on 29 June as I also prefer SFA.  

For TSL, I also don't have much information, but I also prefer traditional education and my daughter is also feel fine with this.  Her school bus's friends also have 2 boys going to study in SFA, so I don't have your problem.
   

Anyway, don't take it as advice to influence your decision.
