The passing rate is not high.  GSIS usually has many applicants and they only take 20 kids for K1.  By the way, even if the child passes the interview, he may not necessarily be offered a place.  All the children that pass the interview will be ranked according to their priority system and GSIS will only admit the first 20.  Therefore, the kid may have passed the interview but yet not offered a place.

In the 2006 school year, all the children that were accepted into K1 fell into their 1st and 2nd priority, i.e. they are either German, Swiss or Austrian or they are siblings.

Is your child on their K1 waiting list?

Do you know how many places does GSIS offer for Y7? I mean for kids who are not studying in GSIS.

No, not yet.  We will if my girl passes the interview.

I heard about their priority system too.  Sometimes not sure if it's worthwhile to try.  They have only 20 places and most of the time it's filled by the 1st and 2nd priority.  There is almost no chance for other children.

I have no idea in this respect.  However, I would guess that since GSIS is a thu train, they will only offer place to non-GSIS students if they have any vacancy for any particular year.
