Re: 最 少 六 校 轉 中 中 傳 統 名 校 難 幸 免 教 -- 學 新 方 案 英 中 「 大 屠 殺」
Every school has some students suitable for using English and some Chinese. If an English school has less than 85% student passing the standard, say 80%, then the whole school has to changed to use Chinese, so those 80% students who passed the test still need to revert back to use Chinese in all subjects. Is this really good for the students???
85% passing rate is in fact very high, there may be problems for some Ivey English Schools which have to accept 80% of primary students now, who are bank 1 and 2. Can we have some kind of flexibility in all schools, if the students can pass the standard, then they can continue to use English, and if they cannot, they have to change back to Chinese.
With such flexibility, we are really teaching the kids according to their capability. Of course someone will say this creates labelling, but it is the reality that everyone has different capabilities, it is just not fair and adequate to teach all students using the same method. :-| |
