Re: YORK 教學方式的不同看法
Yes, please don't be 以偏蓋全, I think York is suitable for kids who have already good in English before they enter kindergarten (which I am sure many kids are nowsaday). Besides, I think we can't expect school teaches kids all stuff & no homework at all. Parents should also play an important role in their kids' learning process & have to know what they have learnt from school.
my kid is not studying in this school but I am impressed by the English standard & teaching method of this school.

It is an unfair 'quotation'.
I was also present when the Headmistress made the statement.
She just claimed that it was their achievement that '學生能達到小學5年級的水平'.
She didn't say that it was their intention/requirement to do so. Besides, she always emphasized that the training had to be carried out under 'happy' & 'no pressure' environment.
I trust every child is 'unique'.
Different children suits different teaching modes.
My/your kids can't fit into their teaching mode doesn't mean that they are inferior to the others.
On the other way round, their teaching mode 'presurrizes' your/my kids also doesn't mean that it is not a 'good' teaching mode.
My dauther is now in their N1. She is not performing very well but is still studying in a happy & relaxed manner.
I trust York's home-work-load is a little bit heavy. Besides, parents are also kept quite busy with their extra-curriculum activities.
Anyway, my daughter is still okay. In fact she is a little bit resentful with her homework/teaching mode of Kumon.
We let her go on like this as the 'pressure' given by by York/Kumon is still bearable. If the situation is going worse, we'll certainly cut something.
A little bit 'pressure' is applicable, we suppose.
Pure sharing. No offence. |
