Re: Top 3 schools in HK

Well, we also talked about La Salle and DBS.  One of my friend was a La Salle old boy. He was quite unhappy and kept aguing when we said DBS was better than La Salle. I think La Salle in good in sport. But DBS in good not only in sports, but also music and academic performance. Anyhow, my friend also agreed that La Salle and DBS are not that good in academic performance as compared with aforesaid top three schools.
Queen's is excellent in academic performance.
SPCC is excellent in music and academic peformance.
DGS is excellent in music, academic performance and sports.

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

top three school? e d topic 多數end up鬧交wor .

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

SPCC, DGS, DBS, LS, QC, MCS have used to be the traditional top elite schools in HK, just like Ivey League schools in US.  On the other hand, there are also top international schools like HKIS, CIS, GSIS, Li Po Chun, etc. All these schools have their own unique culture and characteristics, students are trained to be much all-rounded, which is something not so quantifiable by academic results.

Now a lot of regional local schools also show excellent academic results, yet don't seem to have very unique personalities.

Afterall, what's the point of selecting top 3?  We can only select one school which is suitable for our kid.

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

The topic should be changed into
1) Top 3

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

Agree.     Besides, one should also consider the university entrance track record released by these schools. The info must be transparent to demonstrate competency of their students.

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

It's interesting to see only academic, music and sport were compared. I do think good school should be judged by the style of their graduates - are they hardworking? are they just top talker? etc.

From my limited impression - QC is down to earth; SPCC is intelligent and humble; DGS is dominant and agressive; DBS is refined; and one of the schools mentioned, well, talk more than work.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

1. St. Paul Convent
2. Marymount

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

Dad999,

Re: Top 3 schools in HK

There are only two grades of school :
DGS and others

DGS is superb and others are not comparable.
SPCC or famous others is relative weak now as their selection of pupils are not effective in picking the 'cream' of 'cream'
