My personal experience:

1. Coaches are friendly but don't know their standard compared with other icerink.

2. Place is not clean.  Patches of water here and there not no one to clean.

3. Fee cheaper and parents free to go in and out. Heard that parents need to pay to go and out for Yau Yat Shing.

4. The icerink is quite small and crowded.  Image only 1/5 is for teaching and sometimes 1/5 reserves for ice hockey (no partition to prevent the hockey "ball " from hitting the ice skater which is quite dangerous)

5. What I observed on Friday night is that there's a lot of youngster flying here and there very fast, dnagerous but no one to manages, dangerous and I hate.

You may also go and observe and judge on your own.

Coaches are ok, but the place is not good for kid at all.

My son took 1 to 1 lessons there before and we are thinking Yau Yat Shing now even it is quite a bit more expensive.

totally agreed.  my son learned there about 1 year!

我見有幾個團體都係西九龍搞聖誕幼兒速成班,想俾囡囡試吓,睇佢有無興趣,然後先決定俾佢繼續學,所以就係度問吓有無人係西九龍學過,因為我未去過果個溜冰場。你有無意見?

我已經留意左個商場好耐架啦!我覺得比較多人囉!其餘就唔太清楚,我考慮佢係因為地點OK.除左西九之外,海濱亦係另一個choice. Both are cheaper than Yau Yat Shing & Taikoo Shing. B'cos YYS & TKS are teachig USA style.
My another reason is location, I found YYS & TKS quite far away fr my home.
U can try a parents-children class in X'mas, fees are reasonable.

If they are parents-children (my son took those too), then ok, as you will be with your kid and you will stay in the small area for the classes anyway.  But after that not really recommanding 西九龍.

$450 group fees (for 3 persons to join)
$500 (for 2 p to join)
$600 (for 1p to join)
I know that not so crowd in Hoi Bun and the venue and teacher quite good as advised by my friend.
Do u have interest as well?
I have interested in the ice-skating class in last year, but I haven't find a partner for my girl.

My girl is almost 4.5, she asked me to let her learn ice-skating, so I'm now searching some info regarding this.  Coz I'm living in Tsing Yi, Hoi Bun is very convenience to me.  May I know the prices you mentioned are for 1 month or for 1 lesson only?  Pls advise.  Can you also let me know the coach's name?  Thanks a lot.

My son is 4.5 and Hoi Bun is ok for us too.  I guess teacher is the main concern.  If it is recommaded by ex-students then ok la!

The fees I mentioned is paid by month.
Any interest to join class together? Or u want yr boy/girl to have private tuition?

Is there any trial lesson that we can try? And, does the lesson last half hour or one hour?  Do you think learning ice-skating in winter is appropriate? will it be too cold?  Sorry, too many questions want to ask. :wink:

3.  can learn all year round.

Join class for a month as trail?
Eventually will go for 1to1, unless all have same progress but I think it is better for kids to start as a class at first.  Usually if one can do it the other kids follow ma.

好開心有人講西九龍. 因我以前係個度學的.

我由黃埔去到西九.  當然地方爭好遠,不過我地一般跟coach走,唔會mind.

個人始終覺得,初學最緊要係平,安全,開得成班,同小朋友開心.  個場就一定會間好晒先比你地上堂,而且唔會有其他人入個area度,所以個場人多人少唔影響上堂.  況且小朋友咁細,落堂都你都唔安心放佢入去自己玩啦,所以都唔好考慮咁多其他野lor.  除非大人會入去同佢一齊玩又另計啦.

而我的安排係,會跟工聯會之類比個女學先,之後才比佢跟教練學私人/半私人.  不過都應該係跟返之前教我個個的啦.  熟悉呀嗎... 信得過lor..

不過近四歲學我會覺得好些.
