入IS可唔可以讀好中文？？定係先入Local School然後轉IS?

我哋個plan係想小朋友喺香港讀到小學畢業，然後升中學時考慮移民外國或Send去讀BoardingSchool。

我哋都係外國返嚟，比較鍾意外國教育文化，因為會多注重小朋友全方面發展，功課壓力又唔會太大 (more group projects, encourages critical thinking plus better overall sports and extra-curricular activities )。我哋唔太鍾意香港嗰款比較死板/注重默書和考試分數/背答案/多功課和要補習 "just to keep up" 嘅教育文化。

但係同時間我哋想小朋友學好中文，打好基礎。底線係離開香港時、要識睇報紙，可以用普通話溝通（廣東話我哋會喺屋企自己同佢講），作文方面希望可以寫得出short story。

想請教一下小朋友IS 用家：有冇邊間reputable IS 係可以讀到小朋友中文水平等同其他average/above-average 嘅local school 小學生一樣（當小六年級計）？如果唔得、加少少補習(i.e一個禮拜一兩堂)可唔可以做到？

我另外一個諗法就係：先送小朋友去讀local school。如果太辛苦讀唔成或者唔鍾意，遲啲就插班轉去讀IS。請問咁樣插班會唔會好難入？(小朋友有 FP，我哋兩位家長都可以算係 native level English，有信心在家中可以train小朋友到 native/near-native level)。

依家小朋友未入幼稚園，但係因為報邊間幼稚園都會好影響小學入學係去IS定係local school，所以都要快做決定選邊條路…

On balance, after reading your posts and some further research I'm leaning more towards IS schools with slightly stronger Chinese teaching.


LS just seems too demanding on the child at such a young age academically that they may not get to fully enjoy it (assuming the kid is actually able to get into a 神校 or a semi-decent LS in the first place...).


Onto the practical side of things, regarding CIS/CDNIS/ISF/SIS:


What are the chances of an average kid (with good English) getting into these schools without a debenture/capital note or sibling or alumni status?


I've also heard some pretty negative things about ISF KG - what are people's thoughts?
