如果父母都係LOCAL,小朋友冇外國PASSPORT，係咪就算入到ESF KINDERGARTEN都好難入到小學?
因為我見佢個網頁寫要收70%持有外國護照既學生
"In line with the Education Bureau requirements, at least 70% of the total students enrolled will qualify as ‘non-local’, defined as being holders of an overseas passport."

如果你鍾意Esf，有無外國passport都好，都係入咗Esf kindergarten有好處/priority，易d入番Esf小學。

我吾係Esf用家，不過識幾個都係有passport的家庭，可能入面的學生有海外passport的，多過無的好多都吾定，達這個比率未必係學校收生的一個重要考慮。
樓上講DC和RC，係一樣啦。另外，就算Esf小學真系吾收，小朋友在Esf幼稚園讀完，考其他IS都吾一定無機。你想行IS這條路，Esf kindergarten係一個幾好的開始。

唔該晒咁多位既意見我而家都係諗住安排佢入ESF KG
本身仔仔而家一歲住TKO所以諗住幫佢報abacus playgroup 但個waiting list 已經超過100人知唔知其他ESF KG 有冇playgroup?上佢個網剩係得Abacus 有
如果入唔到ESF playgroup,有d咩playgroup 會幫到入ESF KG?
另外邊間ESF KG會冇咁大競爭易入d?

ESF will be opening a new kindergarten in Tung Chung in August 2015, which will definitely offload some demand on the Tsing Yi kindergarten. From my anecdotal observation, around 15% to 20% of the current Tsing Yi pupils live on Lantau (mostly Discovery Bay and Tung Chung), so one can expect the new Tung Chung kindergarten to lessen the load on Tsing Yi by that amount. However, given that you live in TKO, you will need to move should you consider Tsing Yi or even Tung Chung.

I'm not familiar with Abacus, but I think their situation next year should be the same as previous years, no major changes, i.e. won't be any less competitive.

Actually this year has been a bit of an odd year because ESF was planning to remove their kindergarten's interview priority to their primary schools, this had made their kindergartens less attractive and put off many prospective applicants, so those who had faith in ESF kindergartens and applied despite the lack of priority had a relatively easy time, but now that ESF has backtracked and dropped their plan to remove the priority, things are back to what they were before.

According to esf website, attendence of a minimum 2 terms in esf kindergarten prior to the interview is required to be eligible for the priority.

The actual wording is this ...

"Priority for interview is subject to having attended kindergarten for a minimum of two terms prior to the applicable January Year 1 interview period"

So the child needs to be enrolled by the 3rd term (April to June) of K1 in order to enjoy the priority.

I do not know when year one interview will be. If I remember right, every school ( primary school) can be different. I am not here to help correct anyone. But it is not wise to presume you are under the safety net. And that is why, generally a lot of parents would "remind" everyone that, if u join at K2, u might not get priority. PS. My kids are in high school now so I cannot remember when interview was.

yes that's exactly what I mean。插班 K2 might not get the priority
