其實如果你的小朋友不喜歡音樂而你認同音樂是可受用一生,宣小是一個不錯的選擇.

試想如果將音樂等同中英數一定要計分又不能不學,小朋友是會在學習過程中和同輩影響下產生興想趣,不論他之前dislikes music very much.

以宣小學生年年在校際音樂節取得接近過千優良證書亦證明音樂興趣是可以培養.至於學一些泠門樂器如大喇巴低音大提琴巴松管對入名中如DGS/DBS/La Salle是甚有幫助,因學界是甚小人識這些樂器.

至於鋼琴不計,因樂團是沒有piano.

我識得一個宣小生,他之前對音樂也沒有interest,但到P.5已取得violin Grade8 distinction,跟著入了男拔,到F.4去了英國,還靠他violin的戌績取得3,000磅獎學金,令他的父母歡躍不己!

以一間私校說,music is a good strategy for survival and to enter 名校.

   我的兒子同時獲九龍塘小學及宣小學位，所以很關心學校升中派位，根據九龍塘小學校方網頁資料2003-2004有96.5%學生派往英文中學,以113名畢業生計算,折合為109人,為何該網頁只公佈83人的去向,其餘２6人派往那些英文中學呢？何解只上載部份！  
     究竟96.5%英中派出率的資料是否準確? 請問九龍塘小學的家長可否幫忙回應!

I think there are really some rumor about the school.  As a parent of APS, I really don't think it is true.  Some people always says that the school is pushing the students too hard but I really don't think so.  We don't have much homework and test.  (except for Maths because that really is a way to help students to get the concept through practice but not drilling)  No extra homework will be assigned during long holiday so as to encourage the parents to spend time with the famaily to go for concerts or other activities.  

It is sure that the school has different requirement on music appreciation and trainning.  The first thing to consider about this school is rather you want your child/ children to spend time and you spend money on it.  If your answer is not, then it may not be a good choice.  But you'd like to have your child/ children to appreciate music, it is really a good choice provided they have really professional teachers.  The music teachers surely won't be able to teach the instrument as they are really diversify and professional.  

I have no sense of music at all and did not really know how to appreciate music.  I am glad to have my child at APS where give her a different stimulation on music.  My daughter really enjoy music and really sensitive to it.  I now enjoy going to concert, musical, art function with her.  I am sure that is something precious.


The impression of the teachers are friendly and willing to listen.  There is no doubt that many parents are like ants sticking to them.  I don't think that is really only APS teachers/parents style.  Well,  I think it is better to see some other school, having the teachers in front of the entrance with no smile and no spirit!!

I think the school is quite all-rounded so that your children will be quite busy with the concerts, instrument, art appreciation, projects and many of these are not really requirement but they would introduce you to it.  It is your choice to let or not let your child to do it!!

I am not a Christian with no religion preference but I think the school provide quite good moral education and the teachers are caring.  Of course there are limitation provided they have big class.  But I guess nothing really is perfect.  

Something I am not really happy about the school is it is not a English school like Maryknoll or Good Hope.  But the English standard is not bad indeed.  

For those who are seeking advice on school, I think it is important to think of what you want and what you need and what your kid is.  Every school has its strength and weakness and everyone has different expectation.  You need to do the matching!!
