A short Dan Rather's report on Singapore education.
There's a lot we can learn from them especially on the training of teachers and future principals.

Have you watched the movie "I not stupid"?

點評

1234ats  No, I haven't. I rarely watch movie.  I've heard of it. I guess it's about the kid has too much pressure from his parents or something like this.  發表於 13-12-8 01:07

courage to change the things I can;

Just finished watching.

Personal opinion, some ideas can be borrowed but doing it so much centrally by the gorvenment is so "Singapore" where the government mistaken themselves as parents of the nation. I suspect a lot of Hong Kong people like me would call it too much intervention from the government.

Teachers training are important, so are doctors for example.  I rather they do so as a profession "by" the profession, like doctors or engineers, with their own organization to promote the profession and responsible for up keeping of standards.  Though I don't object to the government doing something as catalyst to make this happen faster, or entice more quality applicants to education degrees.
