The school will accept NOT MORE  then 70% of related group and not less then 30% non related group. Alumni belongs to the related group. So in a way there is a bit of an advantage, but since there are many alumni applying each year, the competition is also very keen. It really depends on the kid's performance in the interview. Alumni's kids will get interviewed earlier then the non-related group. But yeah I have heard that many didn't get second interview.
How old is your baby? You can start preparing by going to listen to the Summer Gathering alumni talk every year around the end of June. Ms Lee and Dr. Chan will explain the procedure and things you need to pay attention to. This talk is only for alumni and their spouses.

thank you

Hi, do you also have kids in SPCC?  i don't know if those talk is just giving some very shallow answers.  i haven't been attending those but i do try to join some alumni activities.  My son's only 9 months old and i have enrolled him in some playgroups.  Personally, i really don't want to get into the BH group of moms becoz i honestly don't think that i belong to that catagory.  (my hubby is not owner of listed company nor famous person in town... and we don't own aeroplanes)  Therefore, i hope he can get into SKH (braemar hill)  I went to both SPCC primary and secondary myself... then studied abroad.  i had a good time in primary school but i hated my first 3 years in junior high.  (at SPCC)  Just wanna share with other alumni.... what's SPCC "REALLY" like if you have kids studying there.  During my years in primary, (PM school) the headmistress and teachers were very caring.  Even though i'm not the top students of the class, they still remember me.  I treasure all my friends from primary school... till now, they're all my closest friends.

It's the same as other unrelated kids...even if the kid's mom or dad is an Alumnus but the kid did not perform well in interview, the chance will be slim. Also siblings of students will also count as "related", so the competition is not only amongst alumni.

If anything, I think siblings of students probably have an advantage over kids of alumni, as the headmistress & teachers are already familiar with the parents.
Apparently they also assess the student's school work before the sibling's interview.
If the student's standard is below par, the chance for the sibling is reduced.

Yes I agree...that's why it's high pressure for parents - have to make sure the elder one does well in school, as well as preparing for the younger one for interview.
