多謝你的回覆.你估得對,我的意思是指老師同學生的比例.因我知一班有32至36人,一個老師教,會唔會兼顧唔倒呢?

在開放日那天,我巳問了學校校巴問題,早上小朋友上車時間太早,我都係自己帶了.

幾早呢? 幾点在那裏上車?

聽說中文課是用普通話教, 平時你是怎樣同小朋友温習中文呢? 我不會普通話的, 我真不知如何幫他應付中文默書啊!

另外學校主任說每天功課要用上約2~3小時做, 真的那麽多嗎? 已上了全日課加上那麼多時間在功課上, 還要温習和練琴, 重有其他課外活動, 你和你的小朋友如付應呢? 你們一日時間表是怎樣?

中文課是用廣東話教。普通話堂是每星期有一堂，且隨課本有CD或錄音帶，不用擔心。

Hei B and *Polly*,

Currently, the Chinese subject is conducted in Cantonese, though the school may use Mandarin later (to be confirmed). My kid's class has 39 students now. Despite this, the teachers can manage them pretty well. Probably because the teachers are experienced and hard-working. Besides, they maintain good communication with parents and we can help each other.

Luckily, my girl has not yet experienced to spend more than 2 hours to finish the homework. Normally, I start to check and teach her homework in evening. If she can finish the homework efficently, we can spare some time on revision. If not, she has to do the revision during weekends and Sundays cos. the school is really demanding, both in terms of academic performance and manner.

Indeed, I faced the same question before. Gathering comments from kindergarten teachers, net friends here and my other friends, I chose KTS. The reasons are:

(i) the secondary school allocation results are competitive;
(ii) APS emphasises on music - my girl does not like this at all (you will lose scores if you don't have music training);
(iii) KTS has a bigger / much bigger campus.

Above all and most important, I have asked my girl 3 times in 3 different ways whether she would like to stay in KTS (when we received APS's offer). When I looked at her eyes, I knew the answer before she said "Yes, I do". She's now happy with her school.

Try to look for similar topics here (in Sept.) when I faced the same problem.

last time i heard about there was 2 phonics & 2 oral lessons per week, but i asked a p.6 girls on fun day, she said 1 phonics a week if they joined the extra-curricular activities. is it true or not? and i also want to know the fee for extra-curricular activites are reasonable or not ? thanks for all comments.

2 oral lessons per week for p.1 now. They learn phonics in the oral lessons, which are taught by native English-speaking teachers.

The extra-curricular activities on each Sat. are on voluntary basis. The fees are not expensive, as compared with those in kindergarten days. To me, all kinds of fees KTS charge are really reasonable, since they're non-profit making.

好多謝你的回覆.基本KTS給我的印象不錯.唯一擔心的是一班的人數太多了,怕老師觀察唔倒每個小朋友的行為.好似我仔仔咁,佢時不時都會有在上課時雲遊,時不時都要老師叫醒佢.

Don't worry. The teachers are very experienced in handling p.1 new-comers. During the first few months, my girl could not concentrate on her class (even in lunch time). Her class-teacher informed us about this. Indeed, I am very impressed by the tremendous efforts of the teachers. Usually we communicate via e-mails and very often, her class-teacher replied me at mid-night.
