sorry各位, 今天才有空看回應.
多謝各位的意見.
今天琴行通知我說那位亞sir介紹了他的師兄弟來任教, 他會交帶清楚每個學生的學習情況及考試練習狀況及問題給新老師.其他如,時間...等不變.  我想漸時先由這位老師跟小兒的考試, 等考試過後才物識一位長遠的好老師. 以免小朋友適應新老師之餘又要適應新環境, 增加考試前的心理負擔.  不知這樣做對不對.

Good to talk to you again.

真係手指練習，單單練fingering, 我會用Sevcik or Schradieck.

I agree that the exercises in Sevcik and Schradieck are indispensable.  Schradieck may be easier for beginners though.

要求快．準．夠力．手指要提得高，落指板要有聲．

Are you sure about this?  I don't think there is any benefit in raising the fingers high and hitting the fingerboard with force.  Doing this will create nothing but tension in the left hand.  Further, if one fails to keep the fingers close to the strings, he will lose speed and fllexibility.  I am not challenging you but your post is getting me curious.  What you said is against everything I have read in books by great teachers like Flesch, Galamian and others.

要做好你說那三樣東西才去拉歌,相反教我個女小提
琴之前個亞sir堂堂都叫佢拉歌,就算我唔識都覺得好
有問題la,什麼基本嘢都無教,佢只係教我個女用一本書,
suzuki violin schoolvol. 1,教咗半年我一路都
有同亞sir溝通,但係佢吓吓支唔以對,所以我無再比
個女跟佢學,而且佢學費仲係好貴,後來搵到而家呢件
事個小提琴miss,佢第一堂用咗個幾鐘同我傾計,佢話
一定要了解咗個小朋友同家長,知道大家對學小提琴
嘅理念溝通咗先可以開始教,佢仲同我講唔知點解之前
個亞sir會淨係教suzuki呢本書,因為呢本書寫哂手指位,
係for3-5yrs嘅小朋友學,但係我個女7yrs無可能用
呢本書囉！

茵茵 我都覺得Sevcik練手指幾好,但係我覺得小人用,同
唔係好多琴行有得賣！

I can't believe it.  What a coincidence.  I had the April issue of The Strad on my desk when I was back from a meeting.  There is an article in it on finger pressure by Simon Fischer.  Here is what Fischer says:

"When working with a student on gaining greater freedom and ease in the left hand, or when working on intonation, one of the first questions to ask is whether the student thinks that the left fingers should press the strings down until the string makes a firm contact with the fingerboard.  Are they mistakenly thinking of it as a guitarist does: that when playing pizzicato, the harder you stop the strings the better, since then the instrument rings more?  Many students will probably say 'yes'.  Their mental picture is indeed one of pressing the string down until it touches the fingerboard (and often they have been actively encouraged to do this by their teacher).  Actually the best approach is to stop the strings as little as possible.  This is an area where the principle of 'as much as necessary but as little as possible' applies.  Stopping the string more than necessary is a waste of energy and makes the fingers feel heavy and slow ..."

Dear Kaka0814,

I have been looking for a good violin teacher for my 7-year-old son for years.  He has been learning violin for 3 years under 3 teachers.  His current teacher charges $600 per hour.  She is OK but I want to find someone with "assion" in music.  To me, she is a bit "sloppy" but lots of students speak very high of her.  Maybe I'm picky.  When I pay such a high rate to her, go to her place every week (over $100 taxi fare) and accompany my son to practise every nite, I am looking for someone that can point us to a better direction, give him better enlightenment, but not a lenient and forgetful teacher.

I want my son to learn violin seriously with positive attitude.  He is not speically gifted in violin but he is a fast learner, yet easily distracted.  Please could you PM me any good teachers that you know, their tution fee and place for lesson.  Many thanks.

多做一點輔導和支持, 考試這些東西通常都很古怪, 很多時準備得好就考得不好, 準備得不好卻也可能分數不俗。還有個半月時間, 要是時候找伴奏準備練了。還有, 開始上aural 課沒有?

I wonder if you are following some professional violin teacher? I think there are just some professional female player in Hong Kong and charged $600/hr (and you have to go her place by taxi!!) Please check PM about teachers' referral.

Please read PM.

Yes, she is a professional violinist with international exposure.  My boy has been learning violin with her for two years with slow progress.  I think there may be some blind spots and changing teacher/approach may give him some enlightenment.  I am looking for an inspiring, committed and well organised teacher, especially someone with passion in music.

我朋友的兒子是跟一位很有名的小提琴家拉琴, 正如你說, 那位老師不易收生, 你必定要付出很多時間和努力, 他才給你時間.

但我朋友說, 演藝的小提琴並不太出息, 鋼琴倒真一流, 是真的嗎?

跟名家拉琴也看跟誰, 事實是我小時候跟的「名師」的教學法也不濟, 學不到, 也花太多時間。而事實是每次上課都在拉扯, 很辛苦, 他要求高, 我也功課忙哦。

至於演藝鋼琴是否較出色, 不願評。我只會說, 對於學習「樂器」來說, 演藝仍是好地方, 主要是香港大部份最佳的老師也在裏面有教, 但, 事實是也要看你跟那一位老師, 有些老師能力可能差一點, 但教學法很好, 這也是事實。
