I think there are two groups of students in TSL and the group differences is not that great at P1 and P2 but great differences appeared starting from P3 or P4
Differences in terms of their academic development:
1) one group will go to elite secondary schools with excellent common of languages and they are very smart kids as well, no less than those "elite primary schools" - they are impressive
2) another group will fall into band 3
In the EDB report, this observation has been reported as well.
One of my friends used to teach at TSL, she mentioned about this differences as well, especially starting from P4-5. The percentage of "elite" or "Band 1 students" are not that high when compared with "Kowloon Tong Primary School" or "宣道小學" as these schools are more vigorous in pushing their students into the end of academic excellence.
Even with this analysis, I like TSL more than these two schools as it is less vigorious in pushing the kids, more space for the kids to explore their readings and other interests or to play as a kid...
I like to multicultural environment. yet it will be more or really "multicultural" if the school train up their teachers or even the principal should train himself up on this issue. Speaking English well does not mean " Multicultrual", respecting the cultural from their perspective counts...
