I had a conversation with my colleague for the education of Chinese.
She told me a real experience. Though it is for the child who live in Japan, it gives me some ideas. The parent send the child to Beijing to study at a boarding school (good quality, new teaching approach-creative, low teacher-child ratio for 1 year (when the child was 7 yrs old). and of course, they have some relatives in Beijing.
My colleague told me the result of that year affect the chile a lot. When the child did the enterance testing, her Chinese level is low. (for example, she didn't understand the sentence question of math文字題). After that year, she went back to Japan. She could speak, listen, read and write the Chinese. The child is now 13 yrs old and could see 水浒傳 etc and write story (that is what I surprised)
It is the same ideas as the local school parent who send the child to study overseas.
Of course, it is not easy to practise. But just want to share this idea. |
