你們好, 我配現正為小兒籌備報考k1的事宜, 聽聞這兩間學校都很好, 但怎樣好呢? 為了對這學校有更多了解, 你們可否提供一些寶貴的個人意見呀?

1. 這學校環境及設施如何?衛生程度如何, 有蚊患嗎?
2. 這學校的老師及嬸嬸態度好嗎, 細心及有愛心嗎?有耐性嗎?
3. 這學校有英藉教師教授英文課嗎?
4. 這學校的課程深或淺呢, 升上一般小學有問題嗎?
5. 這學校是活動教學還是傳統教學法的?
6. 這學校有什麼特色呢, 為什麼你們最後選擇這學校呢?

Dear tautaub

My son went to Ling Nan for nursery and is now in K1 in SKH (Central). Please see comments below. Please note that there are 2 SKHs, I can only tell you what I know about the one in Central.

1. 這學校環境及設施如何?衛生程度如何, 有蚊患嗎?
Both schools are clean and I don't think there's any mosquito problems. However, when it comes to facilities, I think LN is much better. It has more facilities and is more young-child friendly while SKH (Central) is more primary like.

2. 這學校的老師及嬸嬸態度好嗎, 細心及有愛心嗎?有耐性嗎?
For teachers and aunties, I would definitely vote for SKH. It's not that LN is bad but SKH is so attentive and caring to the children that as a parent, I feel worry free.

3. 這學校有英藉教師教授英文課嗎?
LN - yes. SKH - no.

4. 這學校的課程深或淺呢, 升上一般小學有問題嗎?
I'm not sure about their syllabuses. I heard some LN kids go to St. Paul Boys, DBS and HKUGA. I don't know if they are the minors though. On the other hand, rumors say that SKH has some special connection with St. Paul's Co-ed and that its primary allocation is supposed to be good. However, its real primary allocation remains a mystery. I myself want to know find that out too

5. 這學校是活動教學還是傳統教學法的?
I'm not sure what's 活動教學 and what's 傳統教學? I just know my son really enjoys his K1 life at SKH. But then again, my son is an easy person. He's happy all the time

6. 這學校有什麼特色呢, 為什麼你們最後選擇這學校呢?
My friend's son went to LN for kg and he's now doing P1 at St. Paul Boys. The same friend has a daughter who's still doing kg at LN. I think both of the kids were/are happy at LN and that the parents like it too. I heard from them that the English teaching is good at LN kg (not their primary school).

There are 2 reasons that I finally transferred my son from LN to SKH. The first one of course is the rumor about its primary allocation

. The second one is its teachers. I browsed BK from time to time and read a lot about the SKH kg. Almost all parents have the same comment: the teachers and other workers are very caring. Even though it's only been a month since K1 started, I share the same feeling. The teachers there do not treat the children as a group only but also as individuals. I think that's very important. Every child is unique. Especially for the ones who did not go to nursery but straight to K1, they need more time to adapt a new environment. I think the teachers there are doing a marvellous job about it.

My son was graduated from SKH, I think I can answer some of your question.
1. About the rumor, many years ago, it is true. However, this past years, both school changed the principles or Chair person of the school, so no connection any more. By the way, the % for going into St. Paul's co. edu. is very low. However, St. Paul's boy is more easy to get into, since they are under the same Church's.

2. The environment in SKH is OK but not many facilities. My elder son was studied in the Jardine's lookout location. Since thre is a hill at the back, so there sre alot of mosquito problems, as long as you have the prevention, it is still OK.

3. Some points that I do not like the school, No Native English teachers, the English level is too low, The Chinese teachers are old and traditional, however the Chinese standard is very good.

Be honest, I do not choose this school again for my second son. I hope I can answer some of your questions, if you have any other questions, I will try my best to answer.

Ｉ suggest all mums choose SKH is better!
Ling Nam is not a very good kg. You can see below...!

1. ) the location is at Tung Shan Terrace, the road is very
dangerous. Always traffic argue. The school bus driver
also unpolite.

2.) The school main door front have stairs, it's too dangerous. Sometimes will have kids or parents fall down and
hurt.:cry:

3.)The school building is very old, i feel there is not clean,
always have bad smell in the tolient, my kids told me
they saw coach.

4.) The english teacher just has 1 foreign teacher, a good teacher call "Malesia" is very good but now change a new teacher from last year call" Margo", she is not very
professional. Miss "Malesia" is very beautiful and she is
work in " Crystal Education " help to earn money:tongue: ,
this is under LingNam.

5.)This school is for play more than learn, their syllabuses
is for their Ling Nam primary school. If you grad from
Lingnam kg and go to the famous primary, it's very hard
to study

. ( also need to see your kid's IQ)

6.)The books all are using "Crystal" and "Ching Ching"
publications. It's too局限!

7.) 派小學位不好，好的只是父母是Old boys or Old girls.　好多派得不好，最終讀返 LingNam Primary School!

About the SKH on Mt Butler, the english teacher is a native english speaker just that she is a chinese. She returns from UK. I think their Phonics is pretty good, for some other Kinder, they only start Phonics in K2. Their Chinese teaching is very good. My daughter used to speak a lot english, but now she speaks Chinese very well.
