As far as I know, Morrison is a brand that made by Tsang Fook Piano, (just like toyama and Parson's) which should have stopped producing any new piano for years. As Esmond's Mom said, you should test the piano and see what's it conditions. It's always difficult to comment a piano without seeing it.

check the serial number and probably i could help. But I would say it seems to me Tsang Fook havn't produced any new morrison after 1980s (the time when they switch to promote Kawai)

Dear Kathyb,

My information to 5145 is -- the piano should be manufactured in the year of 1941. Did you get a wrong number? if not, you are so "Lucky" to have a "古董" -- a piano that over 60 years!!

我唸真係有60年, 因為個琴是朋友比的, 她曾說個琴可能有60年(她都是她朋友的朋友給的),我想知多些有關資料,同埋唔知好唔好找人調教琴音(大約價錢?),請 給意見, 謝謝!!

以我所知, morrison 的故事是這樣的。大約是 1920年代, 香港沒甚麼人買得起外國的琴, 因運費太貴, 所以曾福就自家出廠 morrison。 同廠還有另一個名, 但我忘記了。曾福也曾用 tsang fook 出琴, 當年的 morrison 算不過不失。但坦言, 一部低質素的琴彈完 60年後會怎樣? 實在沒有人知。

調音是必要的, 調得不到標準音也至少不能整排鍵的音律不正。這樣會快速慢低鋼琴的壽命。鋼琴家舒曼的一句話, 我覺得可以參考, 他說過:「不要在音律不正的樂器上演奏, 這樣會強壞學生的聽力。」 這也是事實, 習慣了樂器走音後, 你還能要求自己聽準所有東東? 不太可能。 另調音時, 師傅一般也會給你看看鋼琴有甚麼問題, 少毛病他們都會修理。至少要令鋼琴 function 哦。
