一般收入的家庭會否讓子女讀國際小學

擔心既事真係好多，擔心自己英文唔掂同學校溝通唔到，又擔心供供下 (由幼稚園到大學)供唔掂，個壓力仲勁過要供層樓，又擔心如果真係選擇國際學校時呀女讀唔掂又轉唔番本地學校，到時再請補習又係一條數，所以lee個決定真真真真係好大，但係我個心又想個女讀國際學校，問老公佢又無意見，可唔可以俾 d 意見我呀

我完全明白妳的擔心因我亦是過來人，當初亦同樣有妳的擔憂(可能比妳的擔憂更多)。 當初選擇讀國際學校時我兩公婆問左好多人既意見亦受到好多阻力，我地擔心既係 ：

1) 是否有足夠金錢support完成中學課程？
2) 係hk揾工唔識中文重慘過唔識英文
3) 上到p1冇得返轉頭因為小朋友唔會再適應傳統小學教學方法同中文追唔上
4) 變晒鬼仔鬼妹性格大左唔養妳(呢個係同事既所謂忠告)
5) 成日冇工課做真係唔知佢地學左d乜？
6) 好多國際學校既學生係出便好壞(呢個又係同事既所謂忠告)

以下係我兩公婆想佢地讀國際學校既原因 ：

1) 我己知我兩公婆是沒有能力供對b去外國留學但想他們有流利的英語，讀國際學校係一個好選擇
2) 工作上雖然好有經驗但因為自己d英文唔好冇左好多好多機會，呢樣係我既親身經歷我唔想對b好似我咁!
3) 我同老公都係傳統教學既受害者，每日既工課作業同測驗真係嚇怕讀書
4)如果小朋友讀傳統小學我與我先生自問不能夠有足夠的時間陪伴佢地温習及做家課，這是要點。

其實我地選擇讀國際學校時真係有好多事要考慮但始終我地都覺得有時想得太多只會原地踏步，如果唔行出這一步我與我先生一定會後悔。 但當然到最後亦係最重要既一樣野就要有穩定既收入來support到小朋友至少完成中學課程。

唔覺唔覺 左咁大篇，sorry唔知會唔會重曾多左妳既擔憂呢

完全中晒，我自己都係英文唔好係工作上失左好多机會，我其實都鐘意英文，亦都參加過好多夜間英語課程，形形式式都有但係始終學唔到好流利，係進步咗但都未到我想要，所以我深深明白學語言真係要環境，可能係咁所以我想個女讀國際學校，可能有D人會話最緊要係個小朋友既品行，當然我都應同小朋友既品行係最緊要，如果唔識分事非黑白識几多種語言都冇用，但係品行父母可以教，英文唔識就無得教

  

我想問如果兩公婆搵三萬元係唔係唔適合送呀B去國際學校

睇左好耐, 終於都忍唔住發表下, 我兩公婆都是一般收入家庭, 現在仲有一個小b將會出世, 但我都決定送大仔去is讀, 所有你地提及的憂慮我都有唸過, 但亦沒有一個肯定的答案話比我知我的憂慮是否解決, 但可以肯定的是英文唔好在現今社會是會點, 自己亦感同身受...

所以我決定踏出一步, 大仔現已讀了個多月了, 一切就要看他自己啦, 因我已比了我應為最好的佢....吃力總有的, 但可以在自己方面調整下lo...

Dear zoehui2000,

I opine that ESF schools might be your target.

Firstly, the tution fee is the lowest among all IS due to the subsides from HK Govertnment.

Secondly, I found that most of the family are middle class. Quite a portion of the parents are civil servants or employees of public organization. They recieve educaton allowance from their companies. In fact , they are not so rich in compare with other IS with high tution fee such as over 10K per month.

Thirdly, there is very little amount of extra fee required for their activities such as picnic, trip, uniform & etc. The charges are very reasonable.

Last but not least, the adcamic results of ESF are pretty good in average.

It's hard to say which is better than which.  It depends on what specific area you are referring to.  To me, they both have their own strengths.

Save you are within the priority groups as regarded by ESF, it's quite difficult to get in ESF now as it's very popular.  You'd better to apply more than one IS at the same time so that you'll not be in an "all or nothing" situation.

I am interested SIS too, It seem I have to deposite a 60,000 debenture and pay 4000 Levy p/ annum every year! Is it correct?

I had worked in SGP before, the accent is very funny law. Heard that SIS also inherit few of these good thing wor. Liked me, my english is full of law, lah, yeah law.

One point i want to add,
i do need to help my kid a bit on study,
if the parents are not good in English,
you should prepare to hire someone to assist the kid, esp when they are at lower grade.
