英國啦，省一年，咁就早d 讀埋master。始終我比較buy外國stormbrain嘅教學模式， 讀it, 應該要有新意。

當時是2月啊，為買保險，當然乖乖地付上deposit啦。之後的offer在三月下旬才出現。

Oh, time difference. But he had other universities CO.

Some kids and parents take UST as best choice, also many parents and kids take it as a reasonable safety net.

Frankly, ranking is important as an initial reference. Then have to understand the items being measured and their definition accordingly, and the weight that contributes to the final score. I would like to check the ranking, then select the attribute(s) that are important to my concern, and then go to the department website, check the research groups and recent projects and publications, and funding sources in detail. Then finally select the faculties, blah blah blah...

After checking all these, I seriously share with you, CMU is super good. If you only choose for reputation, Stanford MIT is for sure. But, if you look for the research topic and the supervisor, I believe you won't disappoint at CMU.

Just like, if you are keen on the research of computation theory, or formal theory, e.g., category theory, abstract algebra... the best research groups and professors are in Europe.

Just like, if you want to do deep learning research, UofT is one of the best choices, as the godfather of dl is there. Of course, it depends if you can follow him or not...

Reputation does not arise without a reason. If you choose CMU over Stanford, you would make a lot of people happy - seriously.

It depends on the definition of the toppest, if you don't mind sharing your "definition".


Frankly, it is my pleasure if I can make a lot of people happy because of my choice one day.  

Again, it is risky to make a decision just based on a widespread good reputation, without your own list of considerations, no matter whether that's MIT, Stanford, or others.

My friend finally selected U of Washington rather than Stanford studying his PhD because of the supervisor (many years ago), and now working in MS HQ. He enjoys his life and works so much!
