According to the principal of HK Wah Yan College, as reported in today's Ming Pao News, the school may also be considering changing into a DSS to keep up with the trend.

真係十劃都未有一捌，我仔都3年班囉，
佢多數都仲係要跟番舊嗰個直屬額制呢！
睇怕亞仔畢業都未接龍，未必受惠。 :cry:

你地嗰邊呢？有無咩消息？
你地接龍都有望，不過縮到5班都接唔到喎，
除非中學加到6班，咁就有得諗。

麟媽媽,

They are only seriously considering the issue at the moment, and the final decision is yet to be made.

My elder son will not be benefited from the change in any event. But I hope my little son, who will be attending P. 1 in 09-10, can be benefited if the 'through train' plan really materialised and be implemented in time.

I don't think there is any chance for the secondary division to increase the number of studens in light of its small school campus

So, the elder guy must struggle hard to the secondary school

我地中學重建之後可能可以加班，而家4班之嘛。
St. Jo 都唔細啦！你有無入過華小？好細細架咋！
其實華仁同St. Jo 都好有淵源架，
華仁既創校人徐仁壽先生係St. Jo 既畢業生，
當年亦任教於St. Jo，離職後再創立華仁書院，
之後先至由耶穌會接手辦學架。

HK Wah Yan College has only a small campus

I know it situates on top the small hill opposite to St. Joseph's Primary School, but I have never been there before.  I thought it has a magnificent size campus as its brother school Wah Yan College in Kowloon.

Although St. Joseph's College has 5 classes, it has only a small campus in mid level of Central (you will see that if you pass through there).  Its campus does not measure up with many secondary schools of newer generation.

Yes, I know the history including the founder of HK Wah Yan College very well.  I studied its web-site in detail before I made up the decision in the choice of school for the lucky draw

華仁中學都幾大既，我講小學好細細啫。
我讀書時成日去St. Jo 同華仁既，好熟囉！
基本上，華仁應該大過St. Jo DD，
但九華比佢兩間大得多，你知啦！
香港呢邊D 地少呀，校舍係咁上下喇。

對住St.joseph pri 個間係Wah Yan 中學，華仁小學喺另一邊，你係St.joseph係完全見唔到嘅。

你搭車係金鐘見St.joseph 中學，只係望到其中一座，住堅尼地道先係正鬥,後面仲有blocks....都唔細嗱，5班中學都standard 啦！St.joseph 中學校慶open day, 記住去捧吓場喎！

睇嚟都可能好快，之前Wah Yan Secondary校長hold 住一條龍，係要傾掂中一生八成半適合英語教學嘅問題，而家轉埋DSS 就更加唔需煩。係咪？

我對上一次到St. Joseph's 係佢地110th 校慶，
我諗最少20年前！呵呵~~ 我好老餅呀！！
當年都幾多男仔約我去Green & White Ball 架！
唔講咁多，咁唔比面老公，容咩易佢嬲架！！

呢個語言政策梗係最concern 喇！
早年班老神父對直資，真係聽到唔願聽架，
我明白呢班教士既苦心，教會有理念嘛…
當年幾多窮家子弟，都因有學識而創做命運，
大勢所趨，堅持但敵不過呢個超低能政府學制，
睇黎轉行直資…..我有D 失望但都唔到我話事。

我好老土，願天主為我校安排最好的，
我地女人仔一個，只會祈禱架咋！

係，所以St.joseph 都拖得就拖，但喇沙會so far 唔肯轉DSS，連"一條龍"都係唔想脫直屬才唸，St. Joseph 都好concern"語言政策", 到時85% 唔達標，都唔知點算！

Hi holokmom,

Yes, I was talking about HK Wah Yan College not Wah Yan Primary School

Actually, up to now I don't know where Wah Yan Primary School is situated

I know the main entrance of St. Joseph's College is on Kenndy Road. I once brought my elder son there and asked him if he liked to study there a few years later. When he gave me an affrmative reply, I then told him that he needed to work very hard at his primary school if he wanted to go to the College.

I still regard the campus of St. Jospeh's College is small in comparison with many others, just take an example of its brother school La Salle in Kowloon Tong

Back to the 'through train' issue. Honestly, I am not quite optimistic that the plan will finally materialised notwithstanding the good wish of the school board. You have rightly pointed that the overall English standard of its primary students will be a key factor that hinders the decision in favour 'through train'.

BTW, do you know if the textbook in Maths used by La Salle has changed into Chinese (as I noted some parents had stated that)? I feel curious as both La Salle and St. Jospeh stated in the ED web-site that they are Chinese primary school, but the Maths textbook now used by our sons is still in English

個人理解,教署所定義的教學語言,不是中文就代表中文小學,英文就代表英文小學.
應該是指學校所教授的科目除了中國語文外,如果其它的科目全是英文,教學語言就定為英文.
st.jo只是數學是英文,其它如常織,聖經都是中文.故教學語言就定為中文.
教署所定義教學語言為英文的有男女拔,瑪利曼,瑪利諾... 它們只有中國語文是中文,其它科目全是英文
一些上年是英文小學的學校如高主教,德望,聖芳濟各英文小學,宣道...他們的教學語言都是中文.

不過小女子細個返學，都係英小，
又真係得一科中國語文係中文，
其他如宗教都係英文，
亦都無社會科，我地讀Social Studies。
因為當年好多同學係鬼妹仔，印藉/葡藉等等，
我地上中文佢地去上French 囉！
但以前St. Jo 都唔少外藉學生的，而家無晒？

St. Jo 小四常識是中英並用,不是全英的,如高主教,德望...
他們的常識,數學都分開中英文2份paper.
在家長會,St. Jo 校長亦證實他們仍是英文小學,故教學語言定為中文並不代表是中文小學.
