Quoted from the EDB Primary One School Admission leaflet:
"The Primary One Admission System is designed to eliminate the pressure imposed on young
children by the intense competition to enter popular primary schools and the adverse
effect this has on education at the kindergarten level."
Ironically, all parents went thru P1 admission process know how tortured it is! If you have some affiliationsaffiliations to the good schools or leaving in Net 12 or 41, you don't need to worry too much. Otherwise, you need to train your children to prepare for the admission tests of those private or DSS schools. The competition is keen and easily 2 to 3k students to compete for 150 places.
Therefore, we need to look at the causality. It may not be good for kindergartens to teach P1 materials but is it a cause or a consequence?
