Yes the same happened last year for the current P1 .  Still one or two places had been released in Sept after school just started.

Need not 1-1-1.  Just give it a try, it's no harm.  As anyway you didn't have this combination, you can fall back to 1-1-1.  but certainly they did take kids not having 1-1-1.  There're always combination of various profile of ppl can get in after lucky draw, e.g. old boys, with 1-1-1, without 1-1-1, child with good academic results, child with good certification profile etc.
