You can check with the "Kwoon Chung Motors Company Ltd" at 2578-1178. I asked them for ESF Sheung Wan bus fee, they only charge around $3K per 3-month service on island side.
There is a sheet attached to my invitation letter, it tells the process all ESF kindys follow to determine offers. It says all applications are assigned a random priority number in their appropriate category, and applications are then allocated their session from the highest priority number in each category group , alternately allocated morning and afternoon sessions. Unplaced applications will remain in their place of order, and becoming a waiting list. If any successful applications reject the offers, these unfilled places will be offered to those applications according to their position in the waiting list.
It says all applications received during the month of October are assigned a random number within their appropriate category, a list will be generated. Applications received after the deadline will be placed at the end of the above list according to the order of receipt dates within their appriopriate category. It also says that by 21st December 2007, all kindergartens will have mailed invitations to successful candidates.
Since your application was submitted within the month of October, date of receipt is not a factor here. I think it is the random number that matters, it is only a lucky draw.
I don't know why ESF TY sent out waiting list letters, but ESF SW only sent out the invitation letters so far. School tour is on 24Jan 2008 for ESF SW, there will be a few days for the parents to make decision, after that they will send out invitation to waitlist candidates if there are any unfilled places.
It doesn't mention any relationship between the date of school tour and the assignment of session. But it does mention that they will allocate sessions by starting with the highest priority number in each category group, then ALTERNATELY allocated morning and afternoon sessions.
I don't know the class size of ESF TY, but the class size of ESF SW is around 22. I think class size of ESF kindys should more or less the same.
Not much idea of learning habitat. Regarding ESF kindy, i think most parents who chose them are aiming for a place in ESF primary.
ESF kindy students are given higher priority to grant an interview but they are not guaranteed places in ESF primary, they still need to pass the interview. As long as your children speak fluent English and given a chance for interviews, they will have no problem to get into their primary. BTW, woodland preschools are good schools. :
I was just wondering how your school visit to ESF SW was going. Did they assign your kid an AM or PM session by random right after the visit? I'm having my visit to ESF TY on 3/3. So nervou ...
Yes, I have been to ESF SW school tour last Thurs. They offer us AM session, it is randomly assigned before your visit, and it is already stated in the contract which is given to your during your visit.
During the visit, a group of parents walked around the campus, and the principal gave us a brief introduction of their school and curriculum. We have a week to make decision whether to accept it or not. If you accept it, you need to sign the contract and return it to them together with a cheque of $9600.
